Mist it with some plain PHed water and keep it moist and warm, it should then shed the seed case within a day.

the AX also showed up and is doing something, but i don't know exactly what.

DSCN0057.jpgDSCN0058.jpgDSCN0059.jpg

i think due to not being at home to frequently mist them, they had to use a lot of power to break through the crunchy top layer of the soil.
maybe i should have used saran wrap to cover the pots.

we'll see. all i can say is: i believe in you girls!!!:ama:

major soil bullshit

due to the top soil layer drying out, all seedling have a hard time pushing through. they're all alive now, but not in good shape.
i'll let them do their thing and hope for the best, but i'm definitely optimizing the soil and start the second of each seed at the weekend.

sativa_guy is not amused!

That sucks man. I had the same problem with mine on the first grow with the promix drying on top and crusting over. On all of my others since then I have put small wooden scewers in the soil and wrapped the entire pots in plastic wrap and on a heating mat. That keeps them nice and warm, the grow medium moist and the seedlings nice and humid.

Stay with it! They will make it through.

yea Ive bout had my share from that one big bale of premix bx I got... when i would think it would be still damp enough to let go a few more hours to come back and water, id come back and theyd be completely dry and the plants almost dead! I went and picked up a bag of sunshine mid advanced hydro... will see how that goes... i heard promix dried out is 7ph and sunshine is 6.5.... will see if it makes a difference... Just popped a Dragons Blood into the sunshine mix!

hey a420er and yoda,

that's good information you're giving me there.
on my first grow i didn't have the crusty problem and, more or less, used the same soil mix. this time i watered the soil and let it drain for a few minutes before sowing the seeds.
now i have some fine vermiculite on hand and will bring that in my new soil mixes, additionally; and keep the soil unsaturated until the seeds sprout.

but there are good news: the girls are recovering. :booya:
