Not happy with the info ive got from hygrozyme they say its compatable with the peroxide then done some searching and found out if useing peroxide use the zyme at a low dose.

just wish nute makers would be more honest , glad you've got it sorted vick

silica is a good veg booster... With nutes i was taught less is more bro... you can easy get caught up in all those pretty labels .. the top growers say keep the res a basic as needs be ... weeks 1/2/3 especially.
.. Bloom supps are great ,but EC-sweet spot & PH is all that really matters ... Right now Im running a very similar schedule to Seymour who is a fuckin clever dude & tailored them for his monster grows carboload thats been worked upto full over a few weeks ,bigbid (he may use Superior potash & 1st time ive tryed it) & aqua flores (base) & thats it . well touch of rhizo & zym ,but only 0.5 & 1ml/l .. This KISS approach works in hyrdo too dude :smokebuds:

Hey vick : I used super-thrive trough all of my grows and never had any slime.Zym + h202 = dead zym = slime. Air + (water~20c) + no light leaks = no slime. You was in my diy dwc cooling thread, did you follow exact procedure of making? Did it help? In the hot days I change techni ice 2 time a 24h + I always have 5l frozen bottle of water ( ~ 1c ) + 5l cold nutes solution (~7c). This way I have 18c always

Thanks a ton for the info, good karma and help guys. Really helps me in researching ways to battle and prevent this, as well as helps any other dwc grower running into similar problems. Maybe we can collaborate and write up a simplified sticky with a tutorial for afn dwc growers. We can discuss that later.

As for organic hydro, I've never researched it, due to believing and seeing my stones may get clogged from the bennies from JUST that tea mix that Dawg posted above. It's the heisenberg tea. I'm not sure if I can add that in with my synthetics... can I? Obviously can't use h2o2. Still a good read and method to kill off the baddies. Thanks Dawg.

Did some more in depth research on h2o2 and zyme.. Looks like komach is right. The h2o2 I added killed off all of the zyme and turned it into that slime.. Algae does not thrive THAT fast especially in my grow conditions. That slime was basically dead, rotting bennies..

As for superthrive, it's hit or miss with some dwc growers. I'm not sure what secret ingredients are in it, but the reaction it has on your res is all dependent on your nute soup mixture. I suspect something in the superthrive does not like h2o2... Will keep researching that..

Komach, I will be getting started on rigging that cooling method you provided us with in your sig. I just need time to stop at the shop Work is consuming my life right now.

The girls don't look stressed out and I hope they won't be stunted either. They did show little growth today. TD is slightly droopy.

As of today, the res is sparkly clean like a swimming pool, no smells and the roots are slime free with new growth coming in PURE white, so I'm really happy to see that. :bone:


Each and every day with my grow, I've learned something new and realized how much the K.I.S.S rule makes total sense... If 5 of my plants thrived with the simple micro/bloom formula, why change it up? Is there REALLY any necessary addition for additives that will make a dramatic difference in veg? (obv. bloom boosters have shown a difference, hydroplex, pk13/14, bud candy, etc) From what I've read, diamond nectar is shit, and I'm not really sure on rapid start to be honest. A weed is a weed and will thrive given the right, simple conditions.

Anyway, enough bantering.. I'll add some photos tomorrow. Just gotta give the girls some r&r before they're really back on par.

Window in the grow room is half close so that attributes to the high temps. It's storming hard right now.

Slime is being taken control of... I can only see some hanging on sas's roots, so I took a spray bottle with diluted h2o2 and sprayed her down hard, making sure to spray the slime off to pick it out of the res. Going to add 3 more ml/gal of h2o2 tomorrow to keep the res maintained and to kill off the rest of the small bits on the roots.

Growth is looking good. How are these for day 23? I really hope they root more than that before the stretch comes on.. And I really hope they stretch well enough for a scrog.

My only gripe is that my ph is swinging reeeeal bad. Within a couple hours after adjusting to 5.5, the ph shot up to 5.8... Left it alone, woke up to droopy girls in the morning with a ph of 6.2! Adjusted it back and the girls perked right back up.
Oy.. this has been one hell of a learning experience with a fuckton of mistakes..

What's your opinion on these girls and how will my current conditions impact yield?

Dude thanks for the rep, you da man. I think the erratic weather temps we're having is fucking with my ph. One day 70 degrees, the next day 40. This is why a chiller is a great investment and would regulate the res temperature and keep it there. I just don't feel like shelling out $400 right now.. Not until I have a better dwc rig.

I've been talking with vira about rigging a 2 bucket system like the one he posted. If his one plant and one bucket is getting him massive yields and gets shrub sized like a fat bush, that'll take over my tent and eat me alive lol.

So, basically I'm trying to find a way to route my air pumps 8 outlets into 2 buckets. That should provide good enough aeration for a total of 8 gallons maybe. It should look like this, except, using my hydrofarm aapa25L pump. Can't really buy this exact kit or these buckets from overseas because they don't ship here. So, I want to find buckets like this, or I'll have to rig it myself with basic round buckets. I just like the convenient water level indicators on these.

Yea after i posted on yours i took a look at my pics and just look at the massive growth form around the same day u are on till day 30 lol insane ..Just looking at them day to day now is CRAZY...was thinking about a water level you could make one with a piece of foam and some sticks and a hanger or something make a mark on it ..then u can track it...shouldn't be too hard..maybe just a piece of hanger wire with foam on the end in a small hole in the top or side of the bucket you see it bend or sink .
