hi guys just about to start an nft grow and seen a lot of people talking about the e/c? could anybody please tell me what this is and what i do about it? i tried google but didnt understand a word of it. just a bunch of sciency words and sentences full of latin lol

right, so basically i get an ec meter and try to keep it at a certain number. if it goes higher add water if it goes lower add nutes. is that about right in a nutshell?

Yea mate. Basically as the plant grows it requires more nutrients so higher ec.
I like to keep a diary in near my tent/growroom. Its great for keeping track of the plants age so when you mix your nutes into a bucket or jug or whatever and ph.
You can jot down the ph and ec.
If you mix a batch of nutes and the ec is 1.2 then after a day in the res you test again and its dropped to 1.0 that shows you that the plant is uptaking more nutrients than water so the mix is too weak.
Stable ec shows the plant is happy with the nutrient strength
