Indoor Electricians what the hell?

Nice Redneck, i had another guy call me on my add, he straight up told me that what i was offering 800 bucks for the job was to much, he would change me materials plus a few hundered for labor. He said Probably 500 to 600 all in for everything done. So iam going to meet with him around 5:30.

You might want to look up installing to code, that way of you ever have a fire, they can't say faulty wiring not up to code.

I always try to stay to code but chances are even if it's up to code and inspected they won't honor the insurance if they find out you were doing an illegal grow.

That's a more reasonable estimate. Again, I don't know your specifics regarding the installation but it doesn't look like more than a 4 or 5 hour job to me.

Home wiring is actually very easy to do with little risk. I taught myself many years ago from one of those "How to" books you see at the big box stores. Over the years I've installed 2 full service panels and upgraded 2 more, run 5 or 6 sub panels, completely wired two garages, all 3 of my grow spaces plus a bunch of other projects. That book was probably the best $5 I ever spent.

If you feel better having a pro do it (not everyone is comfortable working with power), you may want to offer a flat cash sum, and offer to help. We had a local electrician up-grade our 200 amp service panel a few years ago, plus run power to our new heat pump and air handler... parts and labor only came to $350.
Tax free dollars, and lending a hand, can really drop the pricetag!:peace:
Every dime you save is one more you have to spend on lights and fans and other fun stuff.

I've corrected a lot of "goofey" wiring in our old house, and still refer to my "box store bible"!:coffee2:

i wired one of those pannels direct to my drier plug , all i did was cut off the plug on the end of it , bared the wires 1/4 inch , pulled the 40 amp fuse from the pannel , then loosened the screws at the drier plug on the wall , added my wires in with the existing wires , red with red , white with white etc and the ground i screwed to the housing on the wall

been using it for 2+ years with no issues , and i was able to just plug the drier back in as if nothing had changed , i run about 1200 watts off the new panel and can dry clothes at the same time

peace

Just be careful. When you start dealing with 240V you get into things that can kill you. I built and wired my house and I never wire anything with a load on it. I used to but I got thrown across the room doing it. Peace

NEC codes are there for a season. and no its not just to piss us off.
If you follow a few simple safety rules its not as daunting a task as it seems.
home depot usually has people there that can answer your questions.
Youtube is a great resource or.
if you have the money call a guy.

REASON.

Simple job for an electricain shouldnt cost you 800.. 4 or 5 sounds better to me. And even that sounds almost too much

Just an update, i got the 100 amp sub panel installed, and the 40 amp line ran.
Total cost of materials was $287 dollars
no markup from electrician on that because i personally paid for the items myself at Lowes.

$450 for labor, took him about 3 1/2 hours to do it. It took the entire 50 foot roll to make the run

Dry wall isn't cracked for some reason the paint cracked from the metal plate.

Done and Done! Nice!

Perfect! You can't do it any better for less.
