Grow Mediums Eleventysix's First attemp at DWC

What's going on fellow AFN'ers? It's been a long while since I've gotten on here and posted anything up or grown anything at all.. I got the itch to try DWC.. I have been debating doing DWC for several years now, and really haven't gone through with it because I was afraid at failing at it. I'm here now giving it a try and hoping that I can get some pointers or at least some help if needed.. I've done quite a bit of research but I still have questions such as when should I start to add nutrients since I'm using tap water.. my tap water has a ppm of around 205 ppm ..

The plan is to use advanced nutrients.. that was my go to nutrients in soil. I have seen people on here use AN in hydroponics with great success, so I figured why the hell not ...
A little run down on the gear I'm using ..

Strain: Riserva Perida Tangie (I know its not an auto, but all I had left was a humboldt seeds Blue Dream auto and I wanted to get this down so I don't waste it if I kill this lady haha)
Tent: 1.7 x 3 x 5
Lights: 400w Mars LED
300w Mars LED

Nutrients: Sensi Grow, sensi Bloom, B52, carboload, voodoo juice, rhino skin, bud factor X, overdrive, and Big bud

I did have a few questions on the nutrients.. In soil I've always followed tangs schedule.. I wanted to try that his schedule in DWC. Has anyone actually tried his schedule in DWC.. The only thing I didn't plan on using was the sensizym..

Today is day 1: we have a sprout atleast..

If any of you DWC professionals have any pointers, they would be much appreciated! I'm just hoping I can keep this going..

I start with plain water for the first 7 days before adding nutrients.
Yea an works good in dwc from what ive seen- i think youll have to scale down tangs feed though- its takes a lot less to feed in dwc than in soil.
I take it you have a decent ph pen and ppm meter

Good deal I've seen some people say don't start feeding until 2 weeks in.. I'm going to start her on feed around day 7 with a light mixture.. she's not an auto so I assume I wont have to go as light as you would starting out an Auto.. I'm way more familiar with autos though.. I have a decent PH pen and PPM meter, they have both worked well for me growing in soil.. I'm having to knock off the growing cob webs since its been a while.. I should have said I'll be using all the nutrients from tang's schedule except for the sensizym, but it is definitely good to have ya subbed up and watching. Hopefully I can keep everything healthy like the DP Auto Blueberry I last grew about 3 years ago but we will see.. It's day two out of the rockwool and she's got her cotyledon and first two small leaves going on ..

I believe it's the exact opposite. Hydroponic setups typically need higher ppm/ec than growing in pots.

Granted, this is a dyna gro chart, however the ppm levels should still be pretty similar regardless of what brand of nutrients you decide to use.

Maybe so dude- the only nutrients ive used in soil and hydro is gh flora series (3 part)
Always had to make a stronger mix when feeding the soil plants.
That was using light mix soils that had no food left in them after 7-10 days.
@eleventysix you could try a res at tangs feed strength and see how it goes.
The plant will tell you what it needs through ph and ec readings

well I think I am going to make a res of tangs recommended schedule and see how she likes it.. I would say it wouldn't take long for her to show me if she likes it or not... Well unfortunately I didn't have the nutrients I thought I had, so I have ordered what is needed for the first few weeks.. Should be here by the middle of this up coming week which would put her at around 10 days old.. which I would think would be ok .. if not I do have some left over fox farms hydroponic formula grow big can use for a few days.. we'll see what happens..

Today marks day 5 for the little lady.. she hasn't shown much growth but I would assume her roots are making her way down the net pot. I havent spotted a root yet but hopefully in the coming days she will reach down into the res.. I kind of feel like at this early in the game she isn't growing like my previous soil grows.. guess we will wait and see

First thing i noticed in dwc was how slow the seedling growth is- but once those roots hit the res the growth will start to impress you

i feed 1/2 strength after roots drop,clean res after 7 days in i hit full blast..done this for yrs....
Im glad to see another person trying dwc..i love it,and you cant match the growth once u get dialed in..

O i should say i use similar nutes.i use techna flora line.i use bud candy/root stimulator until roots drop.if you water levels are right,and your pump is way overkill your roots should drop any day..i like photos/clones for dwc but i usualy drop roots in 5-9days always
