I decided to start my own thread in this section to share my thought on different aspects of organic growing, permaculture, polyculture, hugelkultur, and vermaculture.

As you may know I am all about organic growing/breeding. I have even recently started a new job on a local organic farm. I wont make as much money as I did running my own painting crew but the experience and knowledge I gain will be priceless.

feel free to join in on the discussions and add your own insight to any ideas I have or subjects we talk about.

The first discussion will be.....

chelating different sources of nutrients to make them more readily available for plant uptake.

Im sure we have all seen the recipe on TheunconventionalFarmer about making calphos with eggshell and vinegar. If not here is a link..

http://theunconventionalfarmer.com/recipes/calphos/

I will however actually be experimenting using humic and fulvic acid as chelating agents on things such as crab shells, deer antler, bone (fish and animal), and also different types of meals.

I also would like to try to break down molasses to make it more easily available to plants and easier on microbial life.

Any thought or comments are welcome. Ill keep you all updated on any recipes I use or results I achieve.

I've made the calphos and fermented plant juice but have not really used them yet.. look forward to hear how the chelating experiment goes...:Sharing One:

Awesome thread to start Evol I love all things organic growing, permaculture ,Holtzer Permaculture, polyculture, hugelkultur, and vermaculture.

First dicsussion - What is Permaculture? I'm not sure how many people are familiar with permaculture, though i imaging there are a fair few people who are but I guess there may be some that have not come across it..

simply put permaculture is the practice of planting things one time and they grow back themselves each and every year.
basically you're creating a forest (or small garden) with edible and medicinal perennial plants

Im in for the ride. One day I will go 100% organic its one of those things I need to sit down and smoke a bowl with someone thank can brake it all down for me. As you learn and share I learn thanks for being willing to let us learn along with you.

The cal phos is the BOMB! Use it on pumpkins if you grow them. They will get huge

Do it bro. My food and buds have never tasted better.

I think I might try the bloom recipe
just 1 question if it ferments then won't the juice be alcohol?

Evol have you come across anything with the npk of whitetail antler I've always been curious as its the fastest growing bone in the world

The bloom recipe works very well. it does smell slightly like alcohol but since it gets diluted its ok to use. I don't think its exactly alcohol either, more like "almost alcohol".. I only use it once at the beginning of bloom and once in the middle.

I have not found the NPK of WT deer antler yet but I wouldn't make calphos without it. its a pain in the a$$ to grind it into powder but well worth it once its one.
