I'm new to all of this and had a few questions. I've been reading quite a bit, but I figured I would ask this question since it will pertain to my certain setup. My current setup is a 32"x32"60" size tent with two 90W UFO LED lights and a clip on fan to keep air moving a bit. I have an indoor/outdoor humidity and temperature monitor with a remote sensor so I can keep an eye on things without opening up the tent to check on it. I know that LED's do not put out much heat at all compared to HPS bulbs or even CFL's. Do I need to run an exhaust fan setup if I'm not having temperature or humidity issues? Or is it still recommended in general to keep moisture and dank air out of the tent? If so, what do you recommend that can keep quiet and won't break the bank? How often should I run the exhaust fan? Night time or all the time? Everything is set up on surge protector strips with timers, so anything is really doable. I would prefer not to spend any more money if it is not necessary, but at the same time I don't want to run into any major issues or end up killing my girls. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello and welcome. You'll still need air exchange no matter what lights or heat you have. The stale air must be removed and fresh air replenished. Also, with a carbon filter on your exhaust, this is how you eliminate odors coming out of your tent so that your house and yard don't smell like you're growing Cannabis in your closet!

A 4" inline fan will do you fine. And passive intake through the vents. :D Exhaust fans stay on 24/7

Hope this helps. :D

Great answer squid just what I was thinking nothing can grow with stale air with no O2 in it.

Thanks, Squid. Are there affordable options that you would recommend? I always prefer to do it cheap if possible, but I don't purchase junk.

Can you use a arbon filter with that fan goauto?

I saw something similar to that on Amazon and it didn't get the best of ratings. People constantly said it died after a few days. I'm not sure if that's the same model though.

Not sure if I'd trust that. This is the fan and filter I use. All around $120 and with a 5 year warranty on the fan.Filter with regular everyday use last about 18 months. :D

I don't know I don't have to worry about smell....sorry for the lack of info. I'v used them in construction projects over the years and they'v lasted years.

If i had to guess, no it's only 80 cfm

I like that setup a lot, actually. I read some reviews and a lot of people were saying the 4" model was a lot noisier than the 6" model. Do you have any issues with that? How long do your carbon filters last before replacement? Or are they serviceable somehow? What are you using for ducting? Just typical aluminum foil type flexible hose?
