Indoor Exhaust fan question..

In my current setup, I am running two 90w LED UFO lights that don't produce much heat and a clip-on fan for circulation in a 32x32x60 tent. I intend on making the purchase of an exhaust setup soon to keep fresh air coming in, but here's where I'm in a pickle. I plan on running a 4" 165cfm inline fan with a speed controller, but I'm not sure of what size carbon filter I should run. Should I run a 4"x12" 200cfm filter, or a 4"x8" 150cfm filter. I do plan on turning the fan down since there have been no heat issues. Basically, what I'm getting at.. I want the filter that will mask odors most efficiently, and I don't want to have too large of one if I'm going to turn my fan speeds down. Am I over thinking this? Waiting for squid to chime in...

If you go a little bigger it will last a little longer and work better. hope this helps also I run active air fans and there pretty quiet too... I see a test done and there 2 times as quiet as a vortex which cost almost 2 times what the active air cost......

I haven't had any smell issues with it. I have a speed controller, but it has to stay on all the way, especially during the Summer/warmer months. It was the smallest one Phat made and I have had it over over a year. I do sorta feel like a smaller one that 12" would give me more air able to be pulled through or able to turn my fan speed down a little, but I don't know. When I get a new filter, unless I have a new fan by then too. I want to look for a smaller 4" filter and see if it pulls more air for me. 165cfm VS the 200 of the filter. Not a big difference, but it may differ.

I don't know anything about those Ebay filters. I would go with Phat or Phresh IMO.

phresh are nice because they last a long time and there half the weight of other.. I have a 16x36 active air and it weighs about 80 pounds and I have another phresh same size and it weighs about 20 pounds..

From what I have read, I don't know if it will necessarily pull more air, but it will utilize your filter to its fullest potential. If you have one too large, it pulls air only from the base area of the filter where the fan sits. If you have one the correct size, it pulls air from the complete filter area and uses the odor absorbing ability as intended to. What size area do you have and what light setup?
