Indoor F1 FV Jack47 grow-log from week 3 1/2

week 5 1/2

Sheeesh I know.
I was just going through the normal newbie faulties, and doing as much research I can handle on roots. "uuuuggghhhh.."
Realized since their getting so big now, and the coco just sucks a ton of the water, it could be a watering issue.
Also as I mentioned before, perhaps a bit of a salt build up since I never properly flushed once yet, so that's what I did.
Temp roots always seem to stay above 25celcius..;-/

Anyway, I'm just gonna wing-it and see how it goes.
Pretty soon it's going to get hot where I live, so I'm kinda desperate to get this show on the road.
Wait for it to finish whatever it's doing, and just prepare for my next grow. :dunno:
Here's some photo's:

Last photo:

I think everything looks fine...just a little late...my opinion those leaves are thin and noodle like because they are new growth, still folded up like accordions waiting to
fold out...and some of it may be the sativa dom characteristics poking through a bit. My 2 cents. Seems sometimes to just be a characteristic of secondary-non-fan based growth
near bud sites...

Duuuude!
I just looked up the dispatch Email from Herbies and it comes to find out they were F1 fast Jack 47's..... AHHHH :cuss:
I just assumed they were auto because it said fast version..... Such a freakin noob!
Now this makes sense but what the fudge am I supposed to do now!? :help:
Sheeeit: I put them in 12/12 and then today I switched them back to 18/6.
They are photo-sensitive yea? Should they be back on 12/12 like suggested?
Serious bummer....kinda. ;-/
How do I change the title of this thread to F1 fast version, and why is there only 1 grow-log!!?? ahhhh
It's probably going to herm now...

Lights are getting cut-off for 36 hours A.S.A.P!

Good note is there hasn't been a successful finished grow of these yet besides Jay himself no?
Should be an interesting outcome..... :break:

Man, I so totally called that (patting myself on the back) ;)

Unless I'm mistaken you can just switch back to whatever veg cycle you want and grow them in veg until they're where you want them to be or you're just tired of it
then initiate the flip to 12/12 when you want to start flowering.

I don't know enough about photos to say with any certainty.

PM a Mod to retitle the thread and move it to photo sub-forum, I'm sure there will be a lot of solid, old-school advice there. Or you could have them move it to Sweet Seeds
sub-forum and probably get Tommy or Jaypp (Sweet Seed Reps that stop by at least every week) to stop by every week or so to advice specifically about this strain.

I'm curious, what does turning the lights off for 36 hours do?

Well, at least we got 'er figured out. :)

As G.I. Joe would say, "knowing is half the battle!"

Auto's are already fast, the "Fast Version" is attempting to identify a "fast flowering" or "fast finishing" photo...;) but I totally get the misunderstanding...:)
Plus, they are from Valencia, Spain so the translations are sometimes less that exact.

I believe the reason behind his 36 hour dark period. (Which most people do 24 hours I think) Is because there are growers that swear by doing a 24 hour dark period before going to 12/12 to help initiate the flowering mode faster. I actually did a good little bit of research myself. I was debating if I was going to do this to my grow. I decided not to. The reason they say it speeds it up is because the long dark period gives it more time to build up more flowering hormones. There was a more detailed pseudo-scientific explanation for this. I cant recall by memory.

Though, there was a very well thought out educated article on why the 24 hour dark period does nothing. Which convinced me enough to not do it. Plus the argument of this doesnt happen in nature, and the whole point of indoor growing is trying to mimic the perfect outdoor environment.

I think Ive read of people doing 24-48 hours. So maybe he figured 36, smack dab in the middle would be wise? idk,

Im only in on my second photo grow. But, from the sound of it. Sounds like switching to 12/12 would be the best decision. Since your wanting to avoid the heat and all.

Hey, I think only mods can change the thread title...and relocate it (if that's what you're looking for) ;)

Thanks for the explanation on the dark period guys :)

What do you want the title to be...?

Neko is right. i never understand the 24 hour dark period i just bought a course book from oaksterdam and it explains the best way is start at 18/6 reduce to 16/8 for 3 days then 14/10 for 3 days then 12/12. 12/12 immediately works as well. 24 hours dark is just 12 hours less of growth. my opinions based on the book itself.

Wtf!? I just replied via cellphone and it was totally on the thread and now it's not!! ;-/
(Now it seems I'm neglectic.) lol

The 36hrs dark came from Jaypp himself yo!:
