I decided to try some 15 gal. fabric pots outside the greenhouse (straight on the grass).
I was wondering if I should let the roots grow into the ground or not ?
They are just starting to come out of the pots now.

Last year I just buried two fabric pots in the ground as the plants got large (need to keep them from view from public under state law and they were growing too tall to be hidden from view behind a six foot fence). Once buried they needed to be watered less.

For the most part this year, I either transplant directly into ground or start seeds right in soil in bed I have been building up a couple years. Plants grow better and no additional nutrients added other than goose crap I clean up from wild geese in my yard. I dumped used potting soil from the two previous years, peat moss two years ago, egg shells, composted cow manure, coffee grounds, vegetable trimmings from kitchen and hundreds of pounds of fresh worm castings I got the previous two years from a nightcrawler business that closed down apparently this Spring.

That's what I figured, I didn't think letting them go through would be bad but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks man !!
