Photography Fast Buds - LSD-25

my precious baby, you sparkle like a jewel as you race to Maturity, you were like that 'ugly' nerdy girl as you grew, the one they made fun of, with no friends. the last one to be picked,,, I even doubted you, on more then one occasion. You overcame with your GREAT will to live..... Who is laughing now?

As your leaves fade to yellow, I know your time is short, and sadness sets in.....Out of my many grows over 40 years, you taught me something, something I maybe knew but sometimes forget over time......You taught me that I don't always know better, and sometimes just allow nature to do what it does..... You taught me to never under estimate your will to live......

I love it!!! That’s so neat!! End of life draws near!

Yeah, I think I may hold off on Nutes this go around. I feel like I might mess it up.

Love the pics!!!

I do like having the Fox Farm trio of nutes, and some CalMag available in case I see a deficiency, some of my grows either the biology in the soil wasn't quite right or the strain I was growing is a heavy feeder. I have found some strains to require more then others, in these cases I do feed at waterings. Several products that I love using is Optic Foliar Overgrow as a foliar feed, it is mild and the plants, everyone I have grown loves it, as the plant gets into flower I will avoid foliar sprays. I like throwing in some Acti-Vera by BioBizz, maybe 4 -5times in the plants life. Normally as my plants come to a end I when I start seeing cloudy trichomes, a few ambers, it is usually at this point when the leaves start yellowing, start fading, start dieing, as the plant draws nutrients from its reserves, this is ok, it happens in nature, I saw this in my outdoor grows with plants planted into the ground and not in a pot, plants that had great root depth with great soil biology. IMO Cannabis is a plant that wants great root depth. I am talking for a 3 feet plant the roots can hit 5 feet in depth. We put them at a disadvantage growing in pots but they adapt to our pots and still thrive. Anyways if you start seeing a deficiency early on you must respond, so have the nutes on hand, and give them some feeds. Some don't like a plant fading at the end, and that is fine also, to avoid it one should feed some in flower, we tend to with photoperiods, as I find autos light feeders though isn't always the case.

Yes, I’ve thought of ordering the Fox Farm Trio and try some light feedings, just scared of messing up my first auto. I’ve read different feeding schedules and such. Think I will go ahead and pull the trigger on the nutes.

You will be fine say feeding once to twice a week, at say 1/2 to 1/4 strength of what the recommended dosage is, or 1/4 strength and even less on every watering, maybe just a splash, it all depends on the plants and what they tell you. I know what I listed varies, some in my grow circle feed 1/4 strength every watering and have great results, I rely more on the soil food chain to feed my plants or will feed as needed which I find very low UNTIL one gets a few weeks into flower, I find autos under LED's really like some CalMag, and here again, 1/4 strength feedings every other day or so...…..The point I am making, IMO if you feed, smaller more frequent feedings as oppose to larger less often feedings I think works best in what we have seen in our soil grows.

I could see where more frequent feeding might be better for the plant in the end. Does CalMag matter if is is that brand or from like Botanicare or Advanced Nutrients?

Regarding the Fox Farm trio, do you give them all at once or different times? I see conflicting things on their feeding schedules.

:)

Both can happen. One of my growers is successful doing all at once, I do it one at a time when I choose to feed. I again prefer frequent small feedings if one chooses to feed or if the plant is screaming for nutrition. I use a CalMag that is nitrogen free, as I find if I need it, it tends to be when in flower so nitrogen isn't needed as much, however, some prefer some nitrogen in flower, in the end it might not matter, for my soil grows I rely on n2 fixing bacteria living in the root zone to feed the plant as the plants sends the microbes sugars. The exact CalMag I use is grow more mendocino flowering cal mag...…..In some grow tests we gave daily feedings in flower with no ill effect and great growth, we also had another plant of the same strain with zero CalMag which showed deficiencies and leaves being consumed some 3 weeks into flower, however at the end the yields were very similar though the fed plant looked nicer due to nice looking fan leaves not being consumed.

Keep in mind that in a soil grow the soil food chain (the biology in the soil) is feeding your plant, synthetic nutrients can be used but in small doses to help ensure the plant is getting what it needs, too much synthetics could in theory cause the plant to not send sugars to the microbes when the plant needs nutrient, disrupting the soil food web. There are many utube videos that discuss the soil food web in great detail....
