ok i think i figured out why my pics werent uploading. so here are a few that i have been trying to post since the other day. let me know what you think. thanks
Looks like it's time to get them out of those cups. Looking like they have exhausted the nutes in those little cups, hence the yellowing. I would get them into some bigger pots with pH balanced soil soon.
Thank you Muddy. spot on as always. i bought a bale of pro-mix and a bag of mushroom compost the other day and im heading to the hydro store in a bit to grab some more pots and a bag of either OF or Just Right Xtra. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. I thought i might make a mix with these ingredients? I know that the OF and the JRX are both hot, and they are stock full of organic goodies and micro beasties but too expensive for me to use exclusively. oh yeah, i planned on throwing some perlite in the mix too. Thanks for your input.
still hoping to get some input on this before i run to the hydro store. I want something that will provide some nutes in the soil and some micro activity, but i need to cut it with something to keep costs down. got a great deal on the bale of pro-mix (<$14 for 3.88cu ft) so im hoping to use that as a base. would love some advice! thank you everybody
I say just stick with the Promix, but I don't have experience in very many mix additives. You can also buy just mykos for that too. Great White Shark and Humboldt both make great myko additives. Hope this helps. I just like to add to Promix using nutes, nothing else.
thanks for the reply Squid. i have some Mykos, some Great White and Plant Success soluble. And im pretty sure the Pro-Mix has some myco in it as well. I do like the PM and if i were keeping the girls indoors, i would prob just stick to that without major additives. Since they are going outside soon, i would like a mix that is similar to healthy soil, even if it is soiless. i dont want to have to buy/feed with fulvics, humics, microbes etc. if i can get away with it already being in the soil. Does this make sense to anyone besides me? Not sure if im on the right track so im looking for all of the input i can get! very interested in this Just Right Xtra mix. sounds like a winner but im wondering what you all think about it. Seems like it has a lot of good stuff that i would want in my mix, and i like that its already in there. it contains GH Ancient Biology, EWC, DE, GH Sub-Culture M, GH Sub-Culture B, organic bone char and GH Rare Earth. Sounds like it will work great supplemented with a compost tea. Any thoughts? i still havent ruled out the OF though. thanks for checking this out. feel like im writing a book. haha
No problem man and I follow you. I have never heard of that product before, but it sounds god from your description. Ya know how you know if it works well eh? Try it and see and let us know, we love new info. But I follow you, you ant advice. There are others far more knowledgeable than I on this subject in particular. All I can say is try it and see, but I know that's not what you want to hear.
Actually Squid, my man, that may be just what i NEEDED to hear. i think i have become "scared" to do certain things with these autos because of their sensitivities and from what others have advised novice growers like myself. its definitely a good idea to be cautious and ask for advice but i think some things are just preference and maybe i do need to just have a go at it and see what i come out with. thanks mate!
I hear that. Not sure if you noticed, but I have made several mistakes and have had so many problems since I started in February. I am not new to growing plants and all, just Canna, as far as being serious about it. Of course, when I was a kid I tried to grow several out in the woods, but to no avail. I like to live and learn. I started in February and I learn quick. I have the basics down pat for the most part, and have become a helpful and reputable member in just a few months. And guess what dude....I have yet to fully grow out a single plant, except for three males. I bet some of you don't even realize that about me unless you follow my pitiful excuses for grow journals. And this is no pity party I assure you, there's a smile across this Squid's beak.
I just try not to let it get to me. I know I will get it dialed in eventually and that is fine. So...my point is...roll with it...have fun..get messy..make mistakes(yes I just quoted the Magic School-bus)
In my honest opinion that's best for beginner's.
It's tough to go in just thinking you're gonna have a pound in a few months easy peazy and then it come crashing to reality...so start with low, but positive expectations and then there is only one general direction to go from there, my friend. UP towards the Sun.
