Indoor first auto strain

this is what I got in the mail today.

have never grow autos before, just photos so thought I would give it a try. a few qustions tho and some advice but first this is my plan.


Im gonna start 1 seed under the 6 bulb t5 with veg bulbs I have for 2 weeks, ( about ), then I am putting it under an 8 bulb t5 that has both bulbs for the remaining 6 weeks. see what I get. then I plan on getting something like a 125 or 250 HPS, veg a 2nd for 2 weeks and throw it under the HPS for the remaining 6 weeks, 18/6 light, and kinda do a comparison. everything is grown in 3 gallon pots filled with coco under a scrog screen I built for each plant. ( I have 8 scrog screens built. it just makes it easier for me to pull each plant out of the tent for training rather then getting on my knees to do the training.) I know just cause they say 8 weeks don't mean 8 weeks.


first question. what about nutes? I use 1 for veg and another for bloom as well as a few micro nutes, sweeteners, etc. but should I start with the bloom nutes only? or do the veg nutes for 2 weeks then the bloom?


2nd question. what wattage HPS should I use? or would MH be better? right now I have both the 600 and 1000 HPS plus the 2 t5 fixtures I use for vegging the photos I currently grow.

now my situation. its only me in a hugh house built for 2 adults and 2 kids. so electric usage is not a problem unles I start using like 5 or 6 1000 watt HPS. my furnace and water heater vent out the back side of the house so the 2 flue chimney is my exhausr vent. ( 3 stories) and I get fresh air from a vent that was ment in the 70s for fresh air for the furnace and not used for it anymore. I have no issues with spending money so long as I make my money back. but lets not get stupid. LOL.

Second Question. in order for us to help with your light we will need to know what size space are you trying to use? i can say get 1000w hps but if your grow space is 1x1x3 then it would be way to much. so to get an accuate answer we need some mesurments.

Third, photos and autos are two completly different beasts. alot of people on here will tell you they went into an auto grow with a photo mentality and F*ed everything up. so be sure you really read into the differences so you my friend will be sucessfull. sorry im really high and typing really fast might have misspelled some things.:stylez rasta smoke:

Sounds like you have the basics for a really effective set-up. I like the 600 hps for economy, punch & easy cooling.

my work area is about 12 feet by 30 to 35 ft. I veg out in the open and have a 4ft by 8ft tent that I flower the photos in as I can better control light and oder control temp etc. since the auto is grown under the same conditions as I normally veg it will likely be right by my veg area as its always warm there. Im on the lookout now for another, smaller tent to try the 2nd auto in. something like a 4x4 ft. thanks for the link IDS.

I like the 600 as well but for 1 plant I think its a bit of overkill. I use a 600 for 4 plants now! I was thinking more along the 250 range. my lights are cooled so I can get really close if need be.

I've grown a single plant under a thousand watt hps, and could've used more, lol, just blast it Actually I felt it was too much but it was a rather large Sativa photo:beast:

ok this is what I am gonna do grow log wise. I will grow 3 plants. 1 will be scrog 100 percent under the t5 HO with both bulbs 18/6. 2 will be under my 1000 watt HPS but 1 will be scrog and the other will be a tree. Im looking for a more energetic high so all 3 will be harvested at 8 weeks and we are gonna see what yields what. same nutes for all 3. with these faster grow cycles I really cant see a scrog as being beneficial. I may even grow a tree under the t5 but I cant see that as being beneficial eather given the sweet spot, but I have to find another 8 bulb fixture first. I will post a link for those interested in this log on December 6th. that's my planned start date.


also all will be grow in coco in 3 gallon pots ( 15l ) Ill list the nutes when I start

my new t5 should be here the first week of December, just in time to start to rock and roll.
