Cali grow kits

Im thinking of spending the money on the 150 watt hps hydo system for my first grow, i dont know how to properly use the search function yet so i couldnt fine anything on the topic, so any input is appreciated.

I've read from a lot of different people that hydro is harder for beginners. Those kits look pretty nice though. Honestly, If I were you and I was set on getting one I'd spend the 50 extra dollars and get the 400w. I guess temps would be a bit harder to take care of though.

Hello. My only experience is with hydro and is very limited. I have a Super Closet Hydro unit. I feel the Super Closet systems over priced but they have decent phone support. Not as good as AFN but you can call and speak to someone who has experience growing hydro. Had I known about the community here I don't think if have been worried about tech support.

I have enjoyed learning to grow in a hydro unit. It's very matter of fact and I like the mechanical nature of the grow. Finally I'll warn you that things seem to happen quickly with hydro. I miss aimed one of the nozzles on the top feed of my hydro unit and an hour later the res was half empty. I think you need to enjoy being fastidious to really dig hydro. I am a big proponent of LEDs to save energy. I see a lot of smart people shell out bucks on LEDs as the return on investment is short. Good luck.

Im getting ready to start my first grow inside, i was leaning towards a cali grow kit hydro set up, but im not sure as to what direction i want to go yet, as ive never done any hydro growing. Can anyone share they're experience, what route i should take for the best results on my fist time,

Thanks for the replies guys, Im still not sure what I want to do, but I have a little bit of time to research and ask questions. I wanted to do hydro because i've read the quality is better, and it just makes the grow over all better. Im still on the fence as to what I want to do exactly, but I guess time will point me in the right direction.

Iv merged your threads there's no reason to have multiple threads on the same topic......And I would strongly suggest going with a soil less mix like coco, pro-mix or pete moss, for a first grow as for quality 100% organic soil grow is gonna give you a quality smoke as for hydro big yeilds are for sure, but for flavor and smoothness organic is the way to go..a niffty middle meet would be the soil less I suggested earlyer....

I wasnt aware that soil less was an option without hydro. Thats pretty cool. Sounds a bit cheaper than my original plan, Ill have to look into that. These have been awesome suggestions, anymore?

So as far as these soil less grow mediums, where would i go looking to purchase online? any recommendations as far as that goes? As soon as i can figure out how to utilize the search function properly, i might be able to come up with these answers on my own, plus i feel like its good to mingle with the members, i been getting some pretty useful info so far.

promix is good. The Grow more Sea grow nutes are really cheap and good as well.
