I was thinking the same ,to do that over night .Even a DWC res wont take effect that quick if you put the whole bottle of bigbud in !.The cfl-hps switch has gotta be it?.:cry:

Day 55 lr#2 dwc and i need help fast !!!

Well I trimmed off all the leaves that dried up. I had to. They were soo dry if you touched it they crumbled to dust and broke apart. At Shumway.... I have this 4 inch odor scrubber and 4 inch induction fan pictured that i can install for the heat if needed. I have the lil red 5 inch fan blowing on the 250w HPS bulb. I figured that was enough. Im gonna raise the light a bit. Should i install the odor scrubber and fan? I'll do a rez change to if you think that would be good. I just hope i can save her

Honestly if it were me i'd be yanking that plant and chalking this one up to a loss and redo the cab

You have everything to set it up right this time so you should have better luck lol

Is it even budding? for 55 days that thing should be 3/4's done and covered with bud

You can see where the buds are starting to form in different sections of her with the lil hairs with trichomes in them. I think the hps fried the top main cola with all the heat too. I thought it shouldve been ALOT further along now too. Yeah. I think imma yank it Shumway and get my cab right. I'll give it till later tonight around 9-10pm EST time and see how she does. Im not holding my breath. I'll prob be yanking her up by nightfall

yeah mate, now that you have that 250W hps you can get a serious grow going! Its painful i know... but cut your losses and scrap that plant, and get your next auto on the way or maybe try get what you can from it while you wait for your next seeds to germinate. A good idea would be to set up a scrog for your next grow, could set upa nice little one perfectly on top of those tubs

I have a 600w hps very close to my plants without a cover, you just need to make sure there is alot of air movement, and sufficient extraction power. Good luck man...

@ Bambud. Yeah dude, I got home from Easter dinner and the cab was 110 degrees and nothing left of the plant. All the would be buds were toast!! Literally. SMFH!!!!So i yanked her up ASAP!! I have a few questions though. Will the 4 inch induction fan with the odor filter help with the heat from the 250w HPS bulb? Thats the only thing I can think of for my cab. I have(2) 4 inch cpu fans, the lil red 5 inch fan to blow air on the bulb and reflector. Between the 4 of them, I would hope that would be sufficient??? Right?? I just dont wanna start a fire oneday when i leave the house and come home to a burnt down house followed by jailtime.lmao I dont wanna do more than 2-3 plants at a time anyways. I know what a scrog is and its purpose. but I havent watched many youtube videos on it. Not sure how to go about that. I have 2 LR#2 seeds, 2 LR Easy ryders, 1 Delicious Northern Light Blue, and 1 Sleestack X Skunk......LOL!! Not sure which to do quite yet. Any suggestions? :smokebuds:

You will see a big difference with that fan and scrubber but thats only if you set the cab up properly

1. your going to have to re-work your intake and make it a lot bigger

2. you going to need a fan a couple inches away blowing directly on that bulb not a foot or more like you have it now

Thanks Shumway I have a few questions cause I just seen your cab pics.

1. For the intake at the very bottom. Is that JUST a floor vent with no fan behind it? The thickness of the wood on the back of my cab is 3/4"

2. Im guessing the scrubber and 4 inch fan pulls the outside air through the cab and out the scrubber?

3. I noticed your 150w HPS bulb in the cab has your temps at like 100 degrees. How did it not fry your plants like it did mine with high temps hovering on and above 100 degrees?

And as far as the fan directly on the bulb, I can use one of the 4" fans i'll have extra after i take it out and cover up the hole at on the top fan.

People say you cant use those fans for grow boxes.. But i use two standard 120mm 12v fans, one for intake and one for extraction and my grow room temps are at about 20-25c. It just how welll you have it set up, make sure you have an intake at the bottom and a extraction at the top, with a large fan (or two or three pc fans) blowing directly at the bulb above your canopy. Try to get an airflow going in one direction too, rather than several fans blowing against eachother.

If you're worried about smell however... i'd deffinitly get a standard inline fan as they have the power to suck through a carbon filter, you can pick them up on ebay quite cheaply.

Also your plant got fried purely because of how close it was to the bulb, if it was 8-10 inches lower it probably would have been ok, even with high grow room temps. The plant can withstand a few days of high heat, but with an uncovered bulb they get very very hot, especially with nothing blowing on it.
