This is my first grow and first grow journal so please feel free to voice your comments anytime, as I am eager to learn. This is my second attempt as my first attempt failed miserably. It was genocide. My set up is:

Grow Tent 48x96x72
Lights 2x1000w LED (600w actual draw each)
Medium Coco/Perlite 65/35
12x4.5gal Oxygen Pot Resevoir Sysytem
6" Exhaust Fan w/Carbon Filter
6" Intake Fan
2 Cool Mist Humidifiers
2 XHALE co2 BAGS
2x6" Oscillating Fans
Seeds: GSC Extreme Auto from ILGNutes: Flora Trio Series + CalMag
Water: RO(starting ppm 0)
Temp 80f
RH 50-60%

On 8/6 they were placed in their final pots, and today all but one has blessed us with their entry into this world.I'm counting today as Day 1. The medium is still moist from when I charged with a tiny bit of cal mag and nutes, so I will check again tomorrow before I water. I made the mistake last time of thinking they were always hungry, and the best response I got was " I gave a T-bone steak to a baby and told her to eat"........Lesson learned. Please feel free to follow along as I could always use adult supervision from more experienced people, and since I joined this forum, I have been wecolmed by nothing short of kind helpful eager people willing to help out the next man..or woman. Ill check in again tomorrow

I’d say you are setup for success, I’m subbed for the ride. That’s a pretty sizeable operation for a first grow, it will keep you busy I’m sure. I use about 1/4 strength nutes to precharge and grow sprouts in coco. Just be careful not to overwater (overfeed) the sprouts. It can be difficult to water a small seedling in a large pot so I opt for Solo cups and transplanting when the seedling approaches being root bound.

Once it is transplanted, I start watering to runoff with every feeding and I water when the weight of the pot is light (dry). You can even go as far as weighing a fully watered pot and a fully dry pot for reference so you know when to water.

Best of luck, I’ll be watching your progress. I’m quite sure you will get these babies to harvest this time.

You might have a hard time doing ebb and flow with coco. It is intended for clay pebbles or rockwool, the ebb and flow, and may end up with pathogens because how much water coco holds.

You have to keep coco moist but larger than 3 gallon pots aren't usually necessary in a drain to waste system. I hope it works but excess salts, which beneficials like recharge or great white can help keep clear, and excess moisture are problems as to why I don't ebb and flow with coco. The other thing with moisture is mold on the coco creating a micro climate b beneath your Canopy and without adequate air circulation and clay pebbles to c coat the top of the coco, mold and fungus gnats may thrive.

I wouldn't flood until the pot is noticeable lighter and when I do it would only be about 30% of the pot height

Also your exhale bag is too low and your fans probably won't be able to adequately circulate the air in a 8x4 plus I'm not sure how well a 6" exhaust fan can replace air in a tent that size. Might consider a booster fan in the future and mounting some 20" box fans rather than those small ones

I'll follow along.

its a 6"inline duct moving 440 cfm, and a 6" inline exhaust also moving 440 CFM. With both fans running I can replace the air 2 to 3 times/minute. To maintain temp and humnidity they run 1 minute on 2 minutes off. The are several clip on oscillating fans going just to keep a breeze. I'll raise the xhale bags. Thanks for the input.

If you run a CO2 tank you need to run a sealed environment so as not to lose the CO2. If you are running bags which I assume put out a lot less than a meters tank and then exchanging the air you are losing any minimal increase in CO2 that you achieved. I think, am I wrong? I’d like to understand the thought behind the bags. 99% of the time I see them used with active air exchange.

Not trying to question you as anew grower. It was kind of a generic thought that popped out when I saw your post. Kinda meant for anyone looking in that might offer some insight

Good luck I'm subbed
@Frenjamin Banklin you're right. The most I've ever heard was a 100-200ppm increase but exchanging the air makes it not worth it. C02 is usually around 1000 ppm for growing butbut the averageaverage home has 400 ppm without enrichment.

But on a serious note. Wicked setup for first grow... I know you will be satisfied. Ask questions and have fun learning. I am only on my second grow and the wealth of information I gained just from one round was crazy. I'll follow along for the ride. Don't have any experience in coco but I do know you need to feed more than soil. The young ones need to be started on like a quarter or half strength, and that might even be pushing it. Autos are typically, but not always, less nute hungry so it's better to start with the lower feed and build your way up gradually. You will know you have hit your sweet spot of the girls are blowing up with no tip burn, yellowing of the fan leaves at the tips, or just very minor tip burn means you about dialed it in but maybe a little less. About all I think I can help you with right now from the story of round one haha coco requires a tighter regimine than soil, are you checking pH of feeds?
