You are way more disciplined than I am. I have only been growing for several months, but have grown a fair amount of plants in that time. I still get so excited to see new life pop.

white widow one of the strongest strains I've ever smoked though it was a photo I've only seen good things from the widows. :wiggle:
Yes I c hose it to make oil with, later I'll be starting some Northern Lights.

My beans have sprouted!! Just placed them in their foam rafts and they are floating in water with the bubblers going on low now. Like like I'm finally on my way!
Day three and my babies are looking good! One pic is the sprouting seed in its foam raft. I was VERY nervous transferring them to their net pots once they had a long enough roots, but as you can see they are doing well. They will stay in these pots for about a week-1o days? hoping i get my 5" net pots in time. If not, I'll transfer them both into one 10" net pot that i have, that will set in a large tote res.
What exactly is the plan? Just going to place the mini netcup into the 5" cup I presume? Trying to remove the seedling from the cup will probably hurt he roots, which will likely be tangled around the cup by then.
Be very careful when you do it. The roots.are ultra delicate at such a young age, and the hydroton can sometimes be clumsy to work with. Try to be really careful when you drop the roots in there... hydroton rolling and shifting around on you could be a potential problem. It would be a good idea to devise a way to build a wall, or perimeter around the transplant location. Perhaps a large 3" diameter pvc pipe cut to a length of 2" or so would make a safe little 'island' I your 5" netcup to drop the babies in. Then just remove the pvc cylinder and the hydroton should just shift right into place.
The first time I transplanted into hydroton was a fiasco. Didn't anticipate it to be so awkward to work with, and roughed the girls up a bit. One of them ended up badly stunted. I found Rockwood cubes best for seedlings, and just drop those suckers into the big netcup once the roots pop out bottom. Maybe next time

thank you, good info! Yes I debated it for a while but I am going to just transfer them cup and all. Being easy on them during the next transfer has also been a consideration. I wish I'd had the5" pots to start with, but live and learn! Next grow starts in rockwool! :Sharing One:
Another idea for filling the next pot is have it already submerged, the hydroton will be slowed as it sinks, giving the roots less of a beating.
As long as you are prepared for it, and are careful you should be fine. I underestimated the difficulty of the transplant ans the first one caught me offguard and I botched it haha
