Hi guys,

Looks like my first experience in growing is sad, as most likely I watered them not sufficient or there is too less light (Mars II 400 LED).

Blue dream and Med gom.

Tent 70x70x160.

1pic. 01.04.17 planted;

2.pic 17.04.17 after 17 days, only 4 leaves;

3.pic. 11.05.17 after 40 days, only 7 cm tall;

4-8.pic 14.05.17 2 days without watering and survived only 2 plants;

9-16.pic 21.03.17 Blue dream Auto = 30cm, and Med Gom Auto = 7cm.

So my questions:

1. Do I need to switch to flowering cycle and turn my LED to blooming/flowering mode;

2. As everything happened so slow, how do you think, is there any chance that there will grow something out of these plants?

3. As all of them are Auto, what light cycle should I apply? Since I also have same just planted seeds there as well (as I was skeptical about current plants, I planted some new ones); for new plants light cycle 28/6 is needed right? For flowring ones 12/12? What should I do in my case, as I have both types in one tent?

4. As well as, if I have any chance to save all plants (old ones and new ones), what moist level should I keep to satisfy both plant types?

So my main questions is, do I have any chance to save old plants, or better to put them aside and focus on new ones?

Many thanks in advance!

Hey @beka_wu welcome to afn.
I hate to say it but those older plants are beyond repair and not worth keeping sorry bud!
Your seeds all germinated wich is a good start- and although transplanting can work well i would advise planting straight into final pots for less possibility problems happening.

What brand of coco did you use?
Prebagged or brick form?
Stick with a nice airy prebagged coco preferably a tried and tested brand like canna if possible.

Autoflowers will grow and flower on any lighting schedule. Most popular is 18/6 or 20/4 or even 24/0 light start to finnish.
Just chose whatever suits you best.

Plants in coco need fed from very first watering as unlike soil coco has next to no nutrients. Start of at 1/4 strength of what the nutrient company tells you!

Also coco is a very airy mix so its much harder to overwater compared to soil

Thank you very much for answer. I was hoping maybe to gather some 5 gr from old plants, while new ones are growing, but then I will not bother about them any more.

I mixed soil in proportion:
CANNA COCO PLUS 50L - 70%
PERLITE 10L - 20%
Vermiculite 10L - 10%
Now also understood that my fault in the beginning was also that I did not give them any nutrients and started to give them CANNA COCO A + B only after 18 days.

I also did not wash CANNA COCO PLUS before planting, and for a while PH level was 6.5, was that proper action?

I heard that many growers use CFL for Veg.period and LED for Bloom.period. Maybe in paralel with MARS II 400 (250 watt), (2400 k - 3000 k); I should also put CFL standard - 40W CFL - 150W Equal - 6500K over each plant?

Many thanks once more. Maybe with your help my second shootwill succeed. :)

@beka_wu no problem- everyone on this is here to help each other out.

Canna coco plus is good straight from the bag it doesnt need washed.
Although not all coco growers do, most like to 'precharge' the coco- what this means is once you have made your mix and filled your pots you give the pots a good watering with low strength nutrients before you put the seed in.
I would keep the ph at 6.0

Good luck with the grow man i'll happily help you along if i can

But what about my light, for 4 plants. I am wondering maybe I should improve it somehow.
Maybe in paralel with MARS II 400 (250 watt), (2400 k - 3000 k); I should also put CFL standard - 40W CFL - 150W Equal - 6500K over each plant? Or any other ways?

Thank you! :)

The mars 400 is meant to cover your tent size so should be ok but if 4 plants get big they will be really cramped in a 70cm x 70cm tent dude

This is where the damage was done, you left them in the small pots too long and dried them out. Try again.:coco:

small pots don't matter as much as you think trust me on that.

What i'm seeing in a lot of the pictures especially the above one is very under watered coco, especially with perlite mixed in. Your letting it go dry before watering again aren't you ?

Here's how to tell how much to water your coco so long as the plant size is roughly similar to the pot size.

Water your pot till you get some run off, but leave the pot in a tray with that run off, now walk away for like an hr, then come back more than likely that run off will be gone as it was sucked back into the coco, and water again till you have run off, then pick up your pot and feel how heavy it is, that is your max saturation point its gonna be noticeable, now you will want to water again when you stick a finger in the top 1/2" and its still moist but not wet, trick with coco is never letting it go dry.

Now a downside to letting coco or any media go dry and your feeding with nutrient water whether organic or chemical doesn't matter, is when a plant is really dry and you water with a feed water the plant is so thirsty if sucks up as much water as it can but in turn it burns itself in the process as it cant regulated taking what it needs and is souley focus on just water.

But yeah give it a good watering and leave them in trays with the run off.
