New Grower First Grow(Balcony/Window). Auto Diesel Berry grow journal.

Have to agree that measuring PH is the way go. I have a NLxBB going that was having problems (heat stress etc.) and has lost ALL her main fan leaves. I was also getting worried that the buds weren't really filling in. So I bought a cheap PH kit and sampled my tap water and it read off the chart. All I know is that its 7.8 or higher which is too high.:Stones slap: So I mixed up some water and brought the PH down using white distilled vinegar to the 6.2 - 6.5 range and flushed the hell out of her. That was 2 or 3 days ago and she has done a complete 180. The buds are now looking beautiful and are really taking off. Also have to note that I'm able to keep the cab cooler with the weather changing outside now. I was having some serious heat issues.

Its your first grow, so just keep her alive and you'll get a reward in the end. However, you might want to start expecting it take a bit longer to finish than you originally planned. There is debate about this, but in my experience, stressed autos can recover and still produce nice nugz. It just may take longer. I have one at 15 or 16 weeks now and I took her sister at 10 but I won't get in to her misfortunes. Hang in there bud, a lot of good people here to help you along. :wiz:

oh.. and as for the bugs. I could get chastised for this but I used a 'No Pest Strip' in my cab a few weeks ago for spider mites. I shut my ventilation off and left it in overnight and every bug dead the very next day and I removed it. Just do your homework before you decide to go that route. It could be overkill for whatever your pest problem is, idk. I'll leave it at that.

Okay guys for my next grow, i plan to improve everything and learn from experience.

Here is what i planned to get :
- PH Meter with PH Up & Downs
- Either 2 small airpots or 1 huge one (Growing 2 girls in 1)
- UFO LED grow lights (100watts and above)
- Good mylar reflectives
- Since i can't punch holes for inline and exhaust fans, i'm gonna get another oscillating fan leaving it at the opening of the closet facing in (To suck fresh air in)

The upgrade is gonna burn a hole in my wallet but for bigger yields and better growing environment for them sexy ladies, it's all worth it.

I will do a picture report on my next feeding which is either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

I might top up the pot to just below the cotyledons, following krug's advice. Sorry but i'm curious but why ? I'm a guy that likes to know the reasons hahaha. Cheers everyone !!

Would love to go organic but it seems so complicated and i don't think i can get the stuff needed to mix up my own super soil. And yeah UFO LED light would defo help them girls but they are so out of my budget now so i gotta save up for my next grow.

A few questions :

- How long should i keep my girl on veg nute before switching to bloom nute ? Considering the fact that she started showing her preflowers/flowering late around day 28-day 30
- I have like a few dead leafs so should i remove them ? They are just hanging touching the soil and i was thinking maybe i should remove them to make it neater or maybe more air flow ?
- I asked this question already but how would it benefit my plant if i were to top up the soil till it reaches the cotyledons ? I was thinking the roots are below the current soil and topping it up wouldn't help any but i'm not sure that's why i need some advice.

I'm open to more advices and opinions. Peace everyone:smokebuds:

you should keep veg nutes going until vertical growth stops and it goes into full flower.

I pull my dead leaves off. If I can give them a light pull and they come right off, if they resist at all I leave them on.

idk about the last question. I know it won't hurt. You can top it up to the fist set of leaves if you want. I just don't know why you want to except maybe to give the stalk more support. I read one of Muddy's posts that he purposely stretches his plants to get more circulation between the soil and leaves. Maybe someone else who knows more can help you with this one

:wiz:

I have no idea how to see if the vertical growth has stopped. Oh yeah i trained the plant again because i dropped my shirt on it and the top was bent over.\

So i just pull it off by pulling it from the leaves or from the branch holding it ?

I was wondering what is the main purpose of topping up more soil, i wouldn't mind topping up my soil but as my plant is LSTed, the leaves might touch the soil and i don't think that is a good thing right ?

Day 44 Report

My girls are starting to drink plenty of water and also the lower bud sites has reached out for the light thanks to the LST. As you can see in the pictures there are quite a few main bud sites and some smaller ones but they are below the main bud sites.

And also today i received my temp/humidity thermometer and currently it's average is 32 Celcius and 70% humidity which is really insane growing environment.

Here is a few questions :

- Does the plant look small for a Day 44 ?

- Do you think it will still have vertical growth at her age or will it focus all it's energy on bud fattening ?

- Should i train the main bud sites down so that the ones below can grow up and have an even canopy with the rest ? (This question is related to the second one)

- At this stage i can't really do much about the temperature and humidity but if i were to change to LED lights on my next grow and maybe get some dehumidifier balls to reduce the moisture on my next grow, will it help ?

- Does the bottom of my stem looks okay ? I'm quite worried about that as i don't understand if it's normal or something is wrong.

Here are the pictures and you can see the 10 day difference between the last report and the current one.

Cheers everyone and once again, opinions and advices would be nice :vibe:

Hey guys can i have some answers regarding the vertical growth and also if i should train the main bud sites down for the lower ones to rise up (if there is no more vertical growth there is no point?). If yes i'm gonna do it on my next watering.
