Nah, dude, It's only because she's an auto. If she was photo, this thing would be kikkin' ass right now. She looks great for what she's been through. Don't sweat it! She'll put out, maybe not what you'd hoped, but it's ok. I've noticed LST only works well in an optimal environment with autos. Try keeping a log/journal and make notes on what you see with different things that you do. It's easier to keep up with what works and what doesn't. A first time flub is no biggie. I screwed the pooch on some killer skunk I scored back in the late 70's, trying to grow in the closet with some regular fluorescent tubes. Burnt the hell out of them with nutes, but didn't realize, when they were slow to flower, that they would have recovered. Wiped the whole damn thing out of frustration thinking I'd ruined them. We live and learn! Damn, tried to find the pix but couldn't come up with 'em.

The key word in soil is:
PATIENCE
Hardest thing to frikken' do!

In your case, if you can afford LEDs, go with 'em for sure. Cooler operation in small spaces if you can't add more ventilation. I assume your in an apartment?

I haven't grown since the 70s-80s, but this new start is going to be with a 400w HID (MH HPS combo $116) in a 4x4 area of a walk-in closet. It has a light fixture that I've removed and replaced with a 4" inline duct fan ($25) into the attic, rerouted the wire and terminated with a plug socket box for the lights, and (still waiting) putting up some of that "diamond foil film" on the walls (eventually). Also, found a single bucket DWC on Amazon for $40 ($12 S/H) with everything. Going to do some bag seed in that til I get my Hydro feet underneath me, then going with 6-pot tubs.

Honestly? Like you, I have to learn all over again. This time, to grow with hydro. You really just can't read enough and the amount of info is overwhelming.

I am contemplating if i should do an LST on my next grow but i will just see how does the side branches grow before i do it. And yes i have learned a lot from my first grow and i'm pretty sure my second grow wouldn't have that much mistakes and the plant will thank me for it.

Patience is a killer but then i realize patience is the key to everything!

I'm not sure if i can afford LEDs by my next grow but i will definitely keep a budget and try to get it especially PH kits.

Will be doing a report later on and would love to check in on your grow journal too.

Will start that journal fairly soon, I hope, by Thanksgiving. DWC Bag-seed Scrog. I'm still real skittish about ordering seeds for round 2. I have a lot to lose and I don't live in a "friendly" place, but I am out in the boonies. I have to get a grip on my hyperactive insomnia before I wake up dead one day or end up as an ornament on a tree trunk from nodding off on the way to work. The docs here are friggin' useless pill-pushers.

Re: LEDs
I feel you there. I can't see the expense of it (yet). Ends gotta justify the means. I guess they're ok for med growers, but I can't see shelling out that kind of scratch for a small grow (cheaper to just buy a bag!). I was going to start using CFLs this time until I found out how cheap the HIDs are now. Only reason I went there was that i had a way to vent to the attic without cutting any holes (used the light fixture hole). I only plan on a once a year run (if i can help it) to keep my profile low. Those nice Hydrofarm CFL lights were fairly cheap at Amazon.

Would love to try scrogs one day but they will probably be fighting for space in my small closet. Do you think i can grow 2 girls in one 10 L pot or should i just do them 1 by 1 ?

Yeah for some reason i hate doctors and pharmacy because of the ridiculous waiting time and also those man made medicines which cures a certain illness but brings on another. Making money is all they think about man.

The reason why i wanna do LED instead of CFLs is because they give out lesser heat than CFL if i'm not wrong so that will definitely help with my temperature and it's the dry season now and i can't find MJ anywhere and it's fucking strict here. (i'm living in ASIA and you should know those drug rules are stupid, ignorant and crazy bat-shit for a medicinal plant.)

PS : I have bad sleeping cycles and i usually can't sleep at night and i feel so lethargic and tired in the afternoon but the herb usually helps me sleep like a baby. I can fall asleep in like 1 minute when i'm medicated heh.

Ah, Asia, that answers a lot! BE CAREFUL, MAN! Are you a "transplant" over there? Seems I remember you mentioning not reading the instructions on the nutes.
Do you have any electronic skills? Soldering ability? You COULD make your own cheaper than the retail costs. Most of the markets LEDs come from China, Taiwan, South Korea, etc. anyway. All you have to do is assemble them in an array with the drivers and a fan.

Nah man i'm chinese but my primary language is english and i hate speaking in chinese lolzer. Those words were japanese and even if it were chinese, i probably wouldn't understand them because that's how much i suck at it I'm just a teenager so i don't have any electronic skills and i can't really do much that's why i can't drill holes and stuff into my closet.

The penalty is fucking stupid, you can get imprisonment up to 20 years just for possession/usage of cannabis and if you're smuggling more than 500g you will get the death sentence. How i wish i was in Amsterdam.

Sorry guys i don't feel safe telling you guys my location as you know it's really dangerous if i get caught. I'm risking a lot just to even be growing and that shows how much i appreciate and love the herb which mother nature granted us but the government banned it

hell no, don't tell us your location. You've got big "Balls" just risking a grow with those kind of penalties. 20 years for possession?!!! :jaw: I'm surprised you even told us you were in Asia. If I were you I wouldn't even be on here, but thats me, not with those penalties. I hope you know what you are doing with computers (using a proxy, anonymous browser, clearing the data from your posted pics) at the very least.

I'm really pulling for your plant to come through now my friend. But then you have still have to stress just keeping it hidden all the time. Ugh man, now I'm getting stressed out for you.

Day 51 Report

Alright we are close to week 8 and i'm probably gonna let it go till week 12 before i harvest. I might clip some samples to test the quality when it's buds are fatter and also mainly because i'm dry and have been sober too long.

I just fed it 1/4 bloom nutes today and also i topped up the soil a little and well it looks neater now i guess. Do you think on my next feeding i'm able to increase to 1/2 bloom nutes or should i just stay at 1/4 all the way ?

Thanks for stressing and worrying but for the time being i'm safe and my father doesn't even know what kind of plant i'm growing, i just say it's some kind of herb

I have a few questions though

1 - If i harvested the plant and leave it to dry, would light leaks (sunlight from window) affect the buds ? I leave my closet door open for air exchange and i'm planning to use my grow space to dry it.

2 - Related to the 1st question, can i do another grow while drying ? For example i'm hanging the buds in my closet but meanwhile there is another seedling with the lights on.

3 - I plan to buy a led light that has a 100 watt total (50pcx3watt). Do you think that is enough for my grow area and also can i grow 2 plants in my grow area ?

4 - I was planning to buy air-pots but then the shipping fee to my country is insane. The 3 gallon air pot cost like $8usd but the shipping is $40usd ?! The smart pot's shipping fee cost like $9. Which do you think i should buy or i should just stick to my current pot ?
