Hey guys, i have a question about feeding. Do you guys feed every watering or like feed/water/feed/water kind of schedule ?

Try not to feed every watering, nute buildup. Once a week maybe and only a fraction of what the bottle says, learn the signs of deficiency and overdose symptoms. Usually the plant will let you know, Nitrogen deficiency is the most common and is a rapid yellowing of the lower leaves first, I noticed on my sprouts the cotyledon yellow first and then progresses, very scary and sad. However finding out the root cause is important, and with young plants its usually the roots :P Mine was springtails and later fungus gnats, watched one jump and take a bite outta the stem! Now the only thing thats guaranteed to kill the buggers is heat, so I got out the kettle and poured boiling water into the container... needless to say I shoulda uprooted the plant first. So the tap root was GONE! Very sad, with NO bugs though. I noticed the nitrogen def. accelerate faster and couldnt figure it out! Yellowing usually meant burn but there was no nutes added! The leaves were yellowing from the outside in and not just the tips. So i added a 15-10-15 generic liquid nute (4drops/litre vs 7 as per bottle) and on a schedule of 500ml nute, 250 ml plain, none, 500ml plain, 250ml nute, none.

:)

Real,

Word up, great idea ! I plan to feed once every week increasing from 1/8 to 1/4 to maybe 1/2. So it's like Feed/Water/Feed/water having 3-4 days dry cycle in between. I think i had springtails when my plant was a few days old but it's all gone now but i see tiny flys around my pots but i don't think they are fungus gnats, i have no idea what they are. What do you mean 500ml nute, 250 ml plain, none ? Haha sorry i don't really understand your schedule but is it similar to what i planned ? When it's time to switch to bloom nutes do you flush first or just switch over ?

You see these?

It looks similar and i have killed a few but they don't have long legs like those do. Those are fungus gnats right ?

Hey guys some advice here please. I was planning to buy black strap molasses and epsom salt because i see everyone including it in their feeding schedule, do you think it's a must ? How do i start using or feeding my plant and when ? Any guide on this ? Thanks alot !

Day 34 Report

Alright so after the recent feeding (1/8 dosage) 4 days ago, the plant has perked up a little and the sight of pistils are popping up. Usually my lights are 1-2 inches away but i raised it to 3-4 inches so that my plant can stretch more. I also made a DIY reflector using the reflective material i use for my walls.

In 3 hours time i am gonna water before the light comes on and then in 3-4 days time i am gonna feed it veg nute and increasing the dosage to 1/4.

I don't know if this is normal or not but my lower leaves has died off and some are really yellow with brown spots and some are even curling and dying. The top leaves are fine but some brown tips at the end which i think i have nothing to worry about. I will let the pictures speak.

Plant looks great. Looks like nitrogen burn to me. I'm not sure how that happened considering you haven't fed your plant yet. Did your soil come pre-nuted? You may try flushing the soil first before adding anymore nitrogen.

Black strap molasses and epsom salt do basically the same thing (I think, you may want to look it up). I would pick one or the other. I use molasses. 1 TSP per gallon to every feed starting during the blooming stage (roughly).

If youre just now seeing pistils, it will be at least a couple of weeks before you should switch to bloom nutes. You want to do it when vertical growth stops or slows considerably.

Don't worry about the bottom leaves yellowing, what you want to pay attention to is the new growth. The brown tips is a sign of N burn. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. Keep it up bro.

What I would do: 1. Flush the soil (3 times the amount of water as the size of the pot). 2. Let it dry then feed light veg nutes twice (once per week). 3 Switch to bloom nutes (and molasses) once per week and let her finish.
