New Grower First Grow Complete - Mephisto Sour Crack

Just cut my first grow down on April 13.

Sour Crack - 63 DAYS 55g

600 W MH till Day 45 then HPS. Lights on 24 till about day 30 when heat was no longer needed. Then 17.5/6.5

5 Galon bucket, 5” net pot - DWC
RO Water after day 27 before that tap with a TDS of over 500
Botanicare Pure Blend Pro
Botanicare Cal Max - when switched to RO water
Botanicare Hydro Guard -
PH - close to 5.8
Air temp 72-79
RH - 50-70
Good air flow

Had a problem with root rot on day 25. I had been using H2O2 but that didn’t do the job.
I added 10 ml / gallon of water max pro and the SC was OK after 3 days. I have been using Hydro Guard to keep the rot away since.

I should have waited longer, or done a partial harvest based on looking at some of the lower buds not visible until harvest. It was slow to start and then never got too tall (9”) but then it just “Got Thick”. She measured 18” across at harvest. I think I ended up with some cal mag deficiency in the end.

Hung in the tent running about 50% for a few days and then trimmed most from the stem and placed in the paper bag.

The final photos only shows about 35g

Ive got another Sour Crack that is about a week or two out from harvest.

nice yield man!! i was curious for the reason you went from HPS to MH? curious because I was always under the impression that you should start with MH and finish with HPS.

I type that wrong but corrected it. You are correct, MH for veg then...

My wife and I did a sour crack on our first auto grow along with 4 others without knowing about the learning curve from photoperiod it was definitely luck we had success now that we know what we know but the sour was her favorite all time and weve grown many strains mostly photos but a few autos we just can't get any scent outta them but the sour we grew under led for the first 3 and 1/2 weeks and then switched to 600w hps the final 4 ran ffhf and fox farm nute line we netted 52 grams which everything I've read said that was really good for it the smoke was amazing and nuggs were super sticky and outta the 12 autos we have grown that's the only one that ever had any smell I don't get it... glad to see someone on here showing this strain I've been looking for a while to compare my grow to we had a lot of nodes and a lot of medium size nugs... your grow looks pretty amazing friend keep on the good work

Thank you. In retrospect now, I realize I had a nice haul. I was hoping to get closer to what I HotBunz did with his first hydroponic, but I am sure his many soil grows helped him get to the 6 oz.

Yes, smell and STICKY. The one I have coming in behind is now at the same day 63 I harvested that one on. My buddy says it smells like a fart. I guess that is the sour? 63 days from sprout. Makes me think that there should be another metric besides grams/Watt. How about grams per KHW. I still have Jamaican Berry that is suppose to be 90-105 days. The "buds" on this and the second Sour Crack were the same 3 weeks ago. The Sour Crack has just swelled right up. The buds on the Jamaican Berry while more plentiful now are still very small. I don't know if they will swell soon or if it will be a bunch of nothing buds. I have had more issue with the JB in terms of keeping it looking good.
