Update Day 28

Hey AFN! Just adding to last nights update. Today is officially day 28 and the girls were watered today. They are starting to release some stank so this morning I installed my 200 cfm Phresh carbon filter, so hopefully no more smell. I'm happy how everything is going up to this point. Still watering with just straight water. I bought a PPM meter and it will be here tomorrow so that I can get a better idea of when i'll have to start adding nutes. I'll also be ordering the Fox Farm Trio of nutes so when i do have to start adding ill be ready. Does anyone have any suggestions on anything else that is a good idea to add in combination with the FF trio or will that be sufficient?

Temps: 72-82 F
RH: 35-55%

WW1:
Height: 11 inches
pH runoff: 6.1

WW2:
Height: 7 inches
pH runoff: 6.3

Thanks again AFN for all the kinds words.

Your girls are looking great--

Having grown in FF and used FF Trio before with WW grows (tho' a different breeder,) I suggest you think about adding some Cal-Mag Plus to your feeding regime particularly now. I don't know whether its the FF or the genetics of WW (reported on other forums to be magnesium hogs) but both of my grows went through mag deficiency around Day 35 or so. Regardless of my experience, I believe a lot of experienced growers strongly recommend Cal-Mag as a preventative additive.

Awesome! Thank you for the advice Bayes. I went ahead and order Cal-Mag and will start it on my next watering. From your experience with FFOF how long before you start to need nutes? Ive just been watering with straight water so far and its going fine.

I usually start with FF Grow Big and Big Bloom around Day 18 at 1/4 strength. Bloom nutes (Tiger Bloom) I try to start after vertical growth slows/stops. I do occasionally give a light dose of Grow Big during flower.

However, if I'm starting around Day 20 and using FF OF and FF nutes, the soil will salt up on me pretty bad unless I do a very good rinse (not flush) about halfway through the grow. Salt buildup is a bitch, not because it is hard to remedy, but because it causes systemic failure/lockout -- your plant(s) will show multiple deficiencies sometimes in rapid succession, sometimes simultaneously. I know this from experience...

Just my opinion, but if you expect your WW to finish in 60-65 days and you are about to start nutes at Day 30 or so, I doubt you would need to do a rinse during your grow. With a longer expected grow time and/or a heavier hand with the nutes, I would probably do a rinse.

Thanks bayes for the advice. I'll look into that for my next grow. Hopefully I'll have the nutes before the next time i water.
