Little Saturday update. I ordered up a pair of jeweler's loupes, and they came in today, so had some fun inspecting the girls. Today was feed day for both of them, and I did a touch of defoliation on The Mayor, so I figured I'd grab a couple of shots.

I think that main cola is going to be a brute!

I really love her almost perfect symmetry, it really appeals to my inner OCD. Since I had the loupe, I figured I'd try to take some shots through it:

What's funny is those trichs sure look cloudy to me. I know, they're on a leaf, and it's clear by looking at her that's she's nowhere near ready, but it's a fun observation.

On to Bubbles, she's looking really good to me. Taking the ties off really made her spring up.

Lots of bud sites, and she's starting to frost up nicely as well.

I ordered 1 too but was sent a damn currency scope not a jewelers so I been doing it the easy peasy way broham!! This is with my old hoopty iPhone 6 zoomed in all the way! Was told yesterday these are still mainly clear too but look cloudy to me! Maybe I need some new glasses?? Lol

Looking good buddy and what kind and how many X is the loupe u bought? Need to return mine for 1 that works but too many on amazon! Ugh

ok, i'm glad sumbody else besidez me has made such an obzervation, lol my Gracie, at 68d today, has had what i could swear is cloudiness goin on for a while now, but, like u, i'm all like, "nah, no way at this age" so, jus sayin is all, and yup, izn't this F U N-? :smoking: ppp

Happy Friday Eve everybody, time for our weekly update. Today marks day 56 and not a whole lot to report. The girls are just plugging along, so I'll just get straight to the pics.

Bubbles is doing well, but there was a minor mishap. I was defoliating her yesterday while toking up, and missed with my scissors and lopped off a satellite bud . After calming down for 10 minutes or so, I decided to turn a kiss into a win, and did a quick dry on the bud and gave it a go. Although she needs a few more weeks, I was pretty impressed, it had some nice fruity notes to it, along with a distinct flavor of cucumber, of all things. She doesn't look the worse for wear after the incident, but damn, now I'm really wanting them to finish up.

The Mayor is getting real close, I looked over the buds with my loupe, and the top is around half clear half cloudy, and the lower buds are about 25% cloudy. The frost is starting to get thick as well, definitely at least two more weeks I think, but we'll see.

More of the pistils are turning amber, so I think she's progressing quite nicely. I ain't gonna lie, I may take a bud on Christmas to sample!

I also got me a Christmas gift a little early, a Boundless CF.

I use ecigs for my nicotine addiction, and so I've been wanting to try a dry herb vaporizer. I'm having some issues, I'm not getting any vapor out of it, I know it's working, since I'm getting high when I use it, but I'd think I'd get some vapor out of it. I was thinking maybe I'm not getting my grind right, especially using leaves, but even with the bud I chopped, I wasn't getting anything. Maybe I'll get a better result using properly dried herb. I'm withholding judgement for now.

I also got surprised at work today, my bosses pulled me into the office and gave me 5 $100 visa gift cards! So guess who has 5 @RocBudInc Grape Rolex on the way for grow number 2? That's right, I do! Just need to get some more soil in, and I'll be good to go for round two.

Looking great, Path! The plants are cruising along, just growing and developing buds. To be honest, you are so far from harvest on both plants that I wouldn't even be checking trichomes at this point. You will know when you are getting close when you see swollen calyx where you are seeing all those white hairs. I would probably start checking trichomes in two weeks. Keep feeding P&K, and following your regular regimen, as those buds want to grow and fatten up.

Patience was my toughest lesson to learn as a new grower. It is still hard for me sometimes! lol!

The mrs and I have a pen style dry herb vape and we dont "see" anything either, possibly the slightest smoke when we crank it to max temp, which isn't the point haha, remember you're kind of really quickly drying it and inhaling the faint steamy goodness.
Not quite like the nicotine guys where you're just boiling vials of water, blowing clouds

And congrats on the new beans

Thanks, I definitely need to work on the patience aspect! I'm constantly having to tell myself to leave them be and do their own thing.

Honestly, I'm only checking trichs right now because the look so damn cool under magnification, but I was surprised to see them clouding up more.

I'm going to follow the adage of when I think they're done, give em another week. It just seems the best way to proceed. I'd really hat to shortchange myself over a week or two.

I think it will be a bit easier on future grows since I should start getting a little stash saved up.

Thanks, DM! Yeah, I wasn't really expecting it to be like my nic vapes, but I figured I should see something. I'm probably gonna let it set until I get some properly dried and cured herb on hand, and then play with grind and temp a little more. The problem is likely just user error, so should be an easy fix.
