Just a quick questions guys can I use HPS for vegetive and flowering or do I have to get an MH bulb for the vegetive? Can I just put a MH bulb in the same ballast???
At first Hello!
Yes you can run the HPS, and the MH from the same ballast.
Some bulbs are dual spectrum, like mine, just more HPS I think. I dont really advice the single HPS run in the full time.
Use MH for veg and HPS in the flo.
thats what id reccomend too... get a good exhaust fan to cover heat... you'll be hrowing about 40% heat of the power you are using...
so 600 x .4 = 240 so thats like a 240 watt heater in there... so consider that when planning your exhaust:
Ok ok cool cheers guys I read some where recently that the intake fan should be double the exhaust is that correct or is that only for a cooler system than mine like say LED? I don't wante babies getting burnt
mh and hps bulbs can only be run on switchable ballasts... older magnetic style ballast only support one or the other.
you should focus on exhaust fans.... causes negative pressure... dont worry about intake fans... worry about enough exhaust volume... intake fresh air will be drawn in by the exhaust fan.
yes you can grow all the way from start to finish with HPS or MH but HPS during veg might stretch them a little but you will be fine.... I know a few people running dual arc bulbs also and like them though I prefer not to use them
