New Grower first grow, nirvana northern lights autoflower

seed sprouted this morning, at first it was in an upside down 'U' shape and then straightened out and 2 tiny leaves are visible, and what looks like another 2 just starting to form. i am using 2 lights - 125 watt 2700k cfl and 125 watt 6500k cfl. i am using both, about 5 inches from the seedling, is this too close?

i am growing in secret jardin dr60. medium is john innes number 2, with a layer of verve seedling soil on top (i now think i should have mixed it all together, instead of seedling soil on top. in my hurry to get started i forgot that the taproot shoots straight down lol) i have mixed some perlite in both soils. lights are on 24/0 atm as i am not switching to 20/4 untill about 10 or so days, is this a good idea?

nutrients i have are advanced nutrients jungle juice grow (2-1-6) and advanced nutrients bloom (0-5-4). ill also get some calmag in the next couple weeks incase i need it.

ive done so much reading on this and im really excited about never having to meet a piece of shit dealer down an ally and buyin some dirty sprayed weed again, not only that i cant believe how exciting growing your own is! im only on day 1 to lol.

so far what do you think of my setup? any info or advice or anything at all will be greatly apreciated. also thanks to muddy as he seems like the online version of jorge cervantes lol

forgot to mention, temperature is at a steady 27 degrees celcius and i will be ordering a ruck fan and rhino filter combo in about 10 days.

First off welcome to the forum mate and enjoy.

24hrs for the first 10 days is fine mate and 5" off the tops is fine, if you have a clip-on fan put this on but aimed away from the sprout so you get air movement but make sure its not like a hurricane blowing

thanks, i will be gettin a clip on fan asap, literally have 6 pence in the bank atm lol. im worried the temp will get too cold with the ruck/rhino combo and a fan for circulation. the lights i have are the only source of heat atm, and by some magical stroke of luck they are bang on 27 degrees lol. how will i be able to maintain the temperature once the 2 fans are introduced to the grow room?

also regarding watering. i watered untill about 10% run off 2 days ago and the medium is somewhat moist but not very. the plant pot is still relatively heavy, so im going to leave it another day or 2 untill its a lot lighter and evidently drier. is it best to water untill 10% run off, wait untill medium is pretty dry but not completely and then water again with 10% run off throughout the grow? thank you.

im also looking into getting a hannah ph stick, but the carbon filter i feel is much more important at this stage so i wont be able to get the ph stick untill the payday after next. i have a cheap one from b&q (8 pound) but im pretty certain its not very accurate at all. im just going to hope and pray that the ph is not an issue untill i can get the expensive hannah model, i dont want to waste my time buying lots of cheap ones hoping they will work. ill also order a liquid ph test kit thing in about 10 days.

you can turn your fan down so it just idles this should maintain the right temps hopefully, to the next Q everything you said in the middle part of your reply is spot on moose. you can get a slightly better ph tester for a 10spot on line

im undecided on a diary lol. they really helped me whilst i was researching, but im very paranoid about being traced through the pictures as the only way i can upload is through my girlfriends iphone, as i have no camera and no phone. im fairly sure they wont waste time on trackin down someone growing 1 plant for personal use, but you never know for sure... is there a way i can take pictures from her phone, put them on my PC and somehow hide it from them being able to trace me? uploading to photobucket or some similar site?

ive just realised they could just trace my IP lol. hhhmm, am i just being too paranoid?

i think ill wait for the PH tester, ill order the liquid test kit thing in 10ish days to tide me over untill i can afford the hannah stick and just hope theres no issues, lol.

LMAO, you remind me of me when i started growing and i live near a heli-pad,lol, if your worried about the phone just swich of your locater thingy ( im not tecky ) and by the way if the police wanted you they would get you, lol, there not interested in the wee guy so take a chill pill and roll a fatty

haha yeah that makes sence. i live about a 10 minute walk from the police station lol. ill start a diary in the next day or so, after all theres not much help i can get from here without providing pics of any problems i encounter so if i want a decent and successful first grow a diary is is pretty much essential lol. thanks for the help. :five:

ive actually changed my mind about the diary, but if my plant gets sick i will take a pic and delte after issue is resolved, but recent events have got me a bit paranoid and i know im over reacting but my mind will not be at ease throughout the grow if im keeping an online diary. i cant explain it but im sure you guys will understand lol. seedling is looking great atm, cant believe how fast its growing!! literally everytime i look at it its got bigger lol
