I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia
first started smoking weed 8 years ago, only took it up in desperation due to chronic belts of insomnia, nothing the doctoers gave me ever worked over the long term. Weed was and still is the only thing that ever worked.
Bit I also discovered i love being high and stoned, so am now alos an avid recreational user, what can I say, everything is better on weed.
I ordered 3 seeds (a speed devil, bubblicious and Purple jems) from bonzaseeds, they arrived from the UK in 16 days, arrived the same day as my LED light so was very excited to get my first grow up and running.
I was unsure on the best way to germinate, was very worried about germinating outside of the soil and then planting as I have been told they are very fragile and can be killed with a little mistake.
I found on this site someones technique that they claimed they have had a 100% success rate and to me the method sounded fool proof, I cant remember who first posted, so appologies to that person for stealing their way.
I put 2 seeds, the speed devil and the jems into a small bowl of water, covered the bowls and put in a dark place late thursday night(actually very early friday morning 2;24am) I woke up at 1030 and checked them and they were still floating, gave them a small poke and the sank, then went out and bought the rest of what i needed to mount my new LED.
330pm, 13 hours after putting into water, the jem seed was still on the bottom and had swallen slightly but the devil had floated back to the top and any swelling was not obvious, gave it a poke and it sunk again, I put on gloves to handle the seeds and planted 1.5 cm deep into saturated soil in my pots. left them in the dark for 6 hours then put under 24 hours of lighting before putting into a 20/4 cycle that will be maintained until the end
woke up Monday moring and went and opened the flaps to my growbox on the balcony and was shocked to see that the devil had sprouted and had 4 tiny leaves and the jems was fighting its way up not quite out of the soil, but was up fully by the time I got home from work, so was a great germinating technique, seeds sprouted in 2.5 days after being planted

my grow room is 1.5foot x 2.5and 2.5 foot high but that is adjustible as needed

I also have 4 cfl
2x 20w day lights and 2x 20w warmlight
each plant has one of each cfl bulbs pointing towards the them about 6 8 inches from the plant
as this is my first grow I am seeing it as more of a learning experiance but i amhoping to get some smokable bud out of this experiment, any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated
