Yeah, more leaf sets you gain the more light can be absorbed and that grows more leaves, then that absorbs more light. Sorta perpetual motion.. except for the whole, having to take take of them part:yoinks:

oh yeah, both a prgressing fasgter and faster the bigger the leaves get and the more leaves that pop up, i got a feeling they will be quite big this time next week.
Im really looking forward to smoking my jems, it just looks so healthy and happyand I am developing high hopes for her, all i have to do is keep up what im doing


starting to get some gnats hanging around my soil so will have to take care of them. whats the best method to do so without harming or stressing my babys?
 
It was truely rewarding not to mention flavoursome and best/most complete medicated effect I'd felt smoking some Purple Jems Purp nugs with nice yellow trichs.

About the Gnats, have a look back at my Log man, the Mosquito Dunks kill fungus Gnats which eat away at roots under the soil, and the 1cm of sand keeps the flying Gnats from laying their eggs in the soil then having them hatch and go wreck some more shit. The pebbles I used were to Keep the sand in position when I flood as it would just get washed away/in abit.
If you are catching them early you might be right with just the sand. But the point of these actions are to break the life cycle of them. Having your grow open and light on will attract insects, mainly them. Also my Black Dragon has started to smell up and I think that attacts em to.
Have a look at Stunteds' stunted dragons thread, his pots have sand and bigger pebbles, though his pots are ceremic I think so the top heaviness of stones wouldn't be as noticeable.

I was actually bored lastnight so enjoyed watching some flying Gnats trying to get into my coco through sand, they were like "wtf?" move afew mm's over "wtf?"
 
I don't know how .but I just found like 6 today assholes ...got sprayed with some insect soap ..and azamax
 
where does one get mosquito dunks from, bought some aquarium stones im hoping that does the trick

Do you mean the type that go in standing water? I pick up that type at home depot.
 
Sorry slow reply, am over heating and passed out asleep after vaping.

I am not exactly sure where to buy them in the form that I have here in a ziplock as it was left overs laying around in nuggetty form and just crumbled a little in each pots. The ones on ebay(ring shaped) do not resemble What I am looking at. It is an american product so maybe some american forum members hopfefully have a better idea.

How many flying Gnats you got around?

I will try poke some people to find out more.

I had a few flying bugs around, i think they were gnats, at first i thought nothing of them as it apeared they were only interested in the soil, then when i found out gnats eat roots i thought it best to do something
