Grow Mediums First hydro grow seven white widow one fruit auto

Well the best I could come up with was aquarium gravel but I think it should do the trick as far as stopping light goes. I really would like to kick the hydro man for screwing me but it's past. Thx everyone for your help I need it. Going to change the resivores tommorow and hope I can get some stability in my ph

I got up early changed my reses and cover the stupid cotto media with some grow stones and aquarium rock this should keep any light out. I hope!
New ppm 650 ph 5.7 this morning I am hoping it will stabilize so I won't have to adjust it so much. Maybe the rocks covering up the media and I won't evaporate so much water.
Thanks again to all who stopped by to help it is a help and I do listen and learn.

I changed everything res and covered up the cotton media I covered four buckets with rock from aquarium store and the other with grow stone samples I had I rinsed them both three times soaked at. 5.5 overnight. The ones with aquarium rocks stayed stabile this morning the others climbed made adjustments will test later again

Buckets that I topped with grow stones keep climbing I rinsed them three times gues I should have done more. I adjusted them again and will replace the grow stones soon as money permits. Plants look a little happier now

The buckets with growstones on top climbed again from5.8 when I left them to 6.3 when I checked again like six hours later. The ones I put aquarium rock stayed stabile only climbing to 5.9. Put everything back to 5.8 then called it a night. I think I will replace the grow stone tommorow with aquarium rock anything that will stabilize this ph.
Plants showing some improvement in color maybe they will start to grow a little I hope. All still alive and getting better

Bro if that climbed to 6.3 and held there i wouldnt be so quick to adjust it... They do need to climb up that high at times, they get all they need by doing this... Honestly you shouldnt adjust the pH too often, can also cause problems in the long run... No more than once every 24hrs is more than enough....
Good to hear your heading in the right direction now.....:smokebuds:

Thanks NW Things are looking better the ph does climb but not enough to get it out of range in 24 hours I think plants are looking lots better at least greener I am afraid they will be dwarves but at least I have not killed them lol. And I am learning a lot from you guys thx. Peace.

:Cushty:Id gram some hydrotron RP ...its cheap for a 50L bag & that much will last forever ...If not the aquarium rocks sound like a winner :smokebuds:

If I could afford it I would bro plus have to get them online live in small town. And I am on disability leaves my money to play grower limited I think coverring the tops with rock has helped plants are greener and look much better. Will get hydro ton soon as I can though my ph still climbed today but stayed at 6.3 I am going to adjust only once in 24 now if I can.

Im sure the rocks will be fine, just be extra gentle when moving them around. If the rocks move around alot I could see them possibly damaging the roots.

The rock dust will naturally have a high alkalinity so just keep Rinsing and then maybe a res change. Hopefully you can get that PH fairly stable. Are you dechlorinating your water beforehand? I noticed my PH would fluctuate more when I didn't. Also if you are using Silica that tends to increase he rate of an upward PH drift. A little PH fluctuation is good for the plants, but alot is a major pain in the ass haha.

Good luck!:smokebuds:
