Howdy all you photo growers. I've only been growing a few months and have only attempted autos so far. I bought a stash of photo beans during some 420 sales but I think I'm gonna try a freebie first before I attempt the ones I bought. I won't feel so bad if I screw up a freebie right? My ultimate goal is to grow sativa dominant strains cuz that's my favorite smoke but I'm not quite dumb enough to try to start there lol. Anyway here's my new friend Bubba, she's about 2 days old, a Bubba Kush freebie from seedsman, supposedly pre98xpre98 but I'm not really caught up on any of that, she supposed to stay pretty squat which is what I'm after. I'm doing everything different from my autos, they are in coco with bottled nutes, this one is in soil, ocean forest. I tested this soil out on lower value plants this spring, thankfully no free bugs and didn't scorch the seedlings so I'm hoping that trend continues. I dunno about what I will be feeding her yet, I'll figure out what I wanna do there in the next week or so, definitely open to suggestions. So far I germed her in a rooter plug and plunked her in a hole with great white sprinkled all around. She's gonna veg under a 105w cfl for now as I've got autos under all my cobs but she will eventually flower under a 200w cob fixture. I'm gonna be leaning on you awesome folks for support a lot prolly. Sorry in advance for all the dumb questions lol. And off we go...

Subbed. Have you checked Ace Seeds? They have some great sativas. I'm growing three of their strains right now.

Good luck, she's off to a good start. Lots of good photo growers around if you need help.

Nice to have you along!:pass:
I'm not very familiar with Ace's catalog but I've been watching your progress. Looks like stuff I'd be into, once my growing skills are up to par anyway. The seeds I'm sitting on are Sweet Amnesia Haze and Super Silver Haze. Ssh is my favorite thing I've ever toked but I don't feel anywhere near ready to take her on.

Good luck! Id love to see that SSH

Hi dude wish you good luck! Looks healthy so far, maybe the soil a little too wet but that won't cause you a problem right now. I let mine get pretty dry and turn it over a bit between waterings/feedings. Do you have a plan for any topping, training etc.? Photos really free you up, you can try all sorts :smokeit:

Appreciate the advice homie. She had just got her watering, I will let her get good and dry between though. I'm thinking topping is likely, I'm lazy so keeping up with LST has so far not happened with any of my ladies. I got no problem breaking arms to move them the direction I wanna go. I'm gonna see how she grows and decide. Will definitely be open to more advice in this department.

2.5 weeks she seems to be doing good. I just watered before the pics again, I swear I'm not drowning her lol. Definitely different growth than I've seen with the autos, internodes are super tight, thick short little branches, fat leaves all bunched up. It's purty cool to watch.
Now say I was gonna top her, would I do well to do that soonish or let her grow some more? I'm thinking transplant is coming soon as well, sound about right? Ive decided I want to try to stick to organic dry nutrients, top dressed. Eyeballing the roots uprising line, any body have opinions on that? Thanks for stopping by.

Hi dude yeah she's not far off being ready for a topping... lovely fatass fan leaves on there by the way :smoking: where do you want to top her down to? Just make sure you leave a cm or so of stem above the new top node and she's good to go mate. Can't see how deep your pot is, she's not crying out for transplant by the looks of things though :smokeit: keep up the good work

Thanks for checking in on her. The pot isn't real big, 2.5 liters maybe. I was thinking of just getting the first node or two and maybe topping again later. I hear this can be a slow one to veg so I figure I've got time to play around with her a bit. If she starts showing otherwise I may reevaluate. I got nothing to compare to really so we will see what happens.
