Thanks, @912GreenSkell, I'll try that. Read that plants elongate most in the dark. Does keeping the lights on might keep them short? Using Canna nutrients.
A few changes in the garden! One less plant. The lamp has three clusters of COBs surrounded by LEDs. The plant on the right above was in the center and grew faster, so the lamp's probably better for two plants. Hygrometer's battery died at the worst time. Read 31% when it was really 20%. Plants stalled. Liking the larger humidifier with humidistat but don't know why it's so dry in this space with the COBs on. Still can't get it much above 30%, so went to 18-6 light schedule. Gnat-nix has been very effective.
That blue spot in the tank is a plastic, fish-shaped container filled with beads that's supposed to keep the tank microbe-free. The active ingredient is silver. If it works, would there be any problem adding these to my reservoirs? Lot's of bubbly white slime colonies, even with an air-pump and H2O2. Is there something else that safely inhibits growth of this stuff? Read that it's relatively benign, and this is the only thing growing.
Guessing it's past time to switch to 12/12? Struggling to build a light trap around the door. They're truly growing like weeds!
Update: With the light trap, the light from around the edges and bottom of the door (when the closet is lit and the room is dark) is in the night-light range. Good enough? It's a very significant reduction, but not 100%. Can't imagine it's brighter than even a little moonlight in there during the day (reversed day and night as it's getting warmer). Don't know what else to do - need the edges and bottom for ventilation.
Amazed by how well both plants have recovered and caught up with each other. It's like they talk to each other.
Two Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel in 5 gallon air-pots. Canna Terra nutrients and medium. 300W Amare lamp. Just switched to bloom nutes.
Are they the right size for 5 gallon pots at this stage? (The image was taken standing on tip-toes. There's more plant than would fit in the frame.) Autos were much smaller, but roots never filled pot. Using low nutes since early humidity problem. Okay to step up?
says who 600WATT HID 14 inches up.If your soil is good and PH is good than they can handle it.Its the heat they cannot.Seeds sprout outside under the most intense light twice as bright as anything in a grow room.I never understood why people say seedlings cannot handle lights. This is the most critical point of your plants life.Plants need light.Give it ot them and let them tell you how much they like it.Ive had seedlings before praying to 1000W Hids at 24 inches away. All my seedlings love lights
750 watts HID on 2/7/2017
Here they are 13 days later under 1000W HPS
29 days from sprout 6 plants and a 45 x60 inch screen filled up in full bloom
Plants eat light for food.give it to them.they will let you know when its to much

Must have great ventilation. Why would the fans on these Amare COBs blow down? Is that normal? Just raised them to 26".
And what's with the phenos? How is this cool?
Otherwise, can't complain. They're both strong plants, whatever they are, but the one on the left is budding nicely. Growing fragrant and sticky.
The only autos grown under this lamp were about a third the size of these. Growing conditions were different, and they'd be just about ready to harvest by now.
