Hi all. I am going to be doing my first grow in a few months and just wanted some input and a bit of guidance. I have been studying the grow process for about a year now and am gathering the needed stuff to get started. What I have is a 4x2 tent with a vivosun inline fan & filter. I will be growing with an 800w COB led fixture (230w actual draw). My plants will be grown in coco (and 25% perlite) in 3 gallon smart pots and I'll be using GH Flora series along with calmag. I will only grow two autos at a time.

My question is...based on past experience, how much nutes will I go through for my first grow on average? I know that they come in single quart containers or larger...I just don't want to buy more than I require. In my area the humidity tends to get pretty high in the warmer months (70% - 80%) in Sounthern Ontario so I may not have to water as often as someone in Arizona as an example.

Plus does anyone have a 'tried & true' feeding schedule for autos grown in coco and using GH Flora products?

Autoflowers will hit with nute burn if you aren't careful. Start out with only a quarter of listed amount, working up from there.

I was going to start with only cal-mag for the first 3-4 weeks then start the nutes at 1/4 dose to start. I was planning on only feeding every other day unless the plants show signs that I need more.

coco has no nutrients so you would be best off starting 5-7 days in with a low dose, make a small ring of watering away from the stem to promote root growth as it's searching for water.

Still trying to get an idea how much of the nutes I should buy for my first grow...

I'm in soil but my quart bottles are half done after 8 plants.

I'm near the end of my second grow. I'm in soil and use flora nova grow and bloom. That's 8 plants total and I have about 2/3 of bloom and 3/4 of grow left. I believe there quart size.

I would recommend starting out in something other than coco for the first grow. Mix coco 50/50 with HP promix and lots of perlite. If you haven't bought your nutes yet, I would recommend you look at Tangs easy schedule using AN PH perfect Bloom A+B. Its actually pretty cheap and works great and is good for newbies.

While its inevitable that you'll have to learn my trial and error and dealing with issues that come up, I think starting out with coco only is going to increase risk of issues.

Also get a good PH pen and use it often. And calibrate it. Ontario RH and bottled nutes should not be an issue. Just keep the nutes cool and dark.

Also make sure your water source is ok and if not, get bottled RO water or equivalent.
