New Grower First proper grow 2 x Think Different 125w Dual Spec CFL

Looking pretty strong dude!!! Great job on the LST and training!! That stalk looks brolic!!! Does your thermometer say it's 94F in there?!? Or is it 32C?? lol
Thanks Godamjt. It's 32 degrees celsius. The 9.40 is the time lol. Yeah the stalks are massive on both the plants. Training it has been tough since the nodes are so close together like an Indica plant. I hope it flowers strong dense nugs like an indica too [emoji1]

I was thinking it was 32C, because otherwise you've got the strongest plants I've ever seen!!!! lol Yeah, that node spacing is so damn tight!! I'm surprised you get ANY light in there!! :)

Quite surprised myself really about the light. I have some stakes ready to go to open up the canopy more but I'm holding off because I'm worried about snapping something. It's at that stage now where the stems are really tough and only seem slightly flexible when they're desperate for a feed. Still a long way to go so who knows...might end up putting more lights in there lol [emoji23]

lol I tell you what, my first grow started out with a pair of split CFLs (2- 2700K and 2- 6500K) and as the plant got bigger, I literally when crazy adding lights!!! lol I'm not recommending it, but if you had an extra minute and went through my grow from start to finish and just grazed over it for the pictures, you'd see that almost every update I did had another light or something else to help with the light.. I'm extremely happy with the Mars II 400w panel I have, but I think if I am going to get better results, I'd have to either get a much heavier duty LED panel, or switch over to HID, since right now, with the LED/CFL configuration I have now, I'm just about at 400w, but if you do a lumens/PAR comparison, I have a feeling a 400w HID light would out-perform the combination of lights I have.. The biggest problem I'm seeing is the heat that the CFLs throw off, since the LED panel alone dropped my overall tent temperature; however the panel I got is only rated at ~200w, so it's a toss-up.. The price was great at the time (I think I paid $170 for the panel and another $40 for shipping from China), but now I'm getting alerts that the bigger panels that I wanted are only a little more..

Ultimately, if you have great environmental controls, it doesn't matter what lights you put in there, since you can keep it proper no matter the type you use.. In any case though, looks like you have been able to squeeze every bit of light out of that CFL and I'm more than impressed!!! :)

Its all good baybeh! I've been following your grow btw. Unlucky with the gnats and bud rot. Still kept it going though because you got mad skillz!! Lol.

I'm actually waiting for the new Grow Northern unit to come out. Hopefully it's out before this grow is finished so I can upgrade for my next grow. If not I'll probably just add more CFL lights in there. Like 4 on each side of the big CFL in 4-way splitters to supplement the large CFL.

Anyway here's to hoping I get some decent smoke for the Xmas holidays [emoji482]

Cheers homie!!!!

Are you going to try and start any more beans to keep it perpetual or are you going to try and focus on growing a couple at a time and stacking buds?? From every single TD thread I've seen, even if they didn't take very good care of the plant, they still grew incredible buds, so naturally, yours look EXTREMELY healthy, so I suspect you're gonna have a couple big ole plants in a matter of weeks!!!

Well I'm a pretty light smoker with a low tolerance level so I don't need much to get me by. So I'll probably always do two of the same strain one after another. Just to learn more about phenotypes really. I think I'll either do two C.O.T.C Cropical Fruit Autos or two Emerald Triangles Lemon Haze Auto for my next grow. This grow and my next couple of grows will all be for my own education and when next summer comes around I'll hopefully be a big baller shot caller doing multiple strains pulling in lbs [emoji23]

I kid I kid. I once made an ounce last 2 months and I felt like I was smoking it every other day. Thank God for low tolerance [emoji1]

Day 32

Think flowering is now quite obvious so I was wrong about thinking I could do another grow feed. Soil is quite dry so good timing. Tomorrow will be the first day of bloom feed. I'll start off with a low dose of 1ml bloom and 1ml Topmax and one teaspoon of my final dose of Epsoms per litre of water. I'll ramp up the doses of bloom and Topmax with each feed. Some quick shots for you guys...

I'm not too familiar with soil grows, but I do know that in the hydro set-up I have, I'd been advised to do a transitional feed, which for hydro is basically equal amounts of Grow and Bloom nutes, but at the same ppm/EC the last feed was.. I'm not sure how soil handles the nute absorption but I would have run that combination for a week or so until I'm seeing lots of pistils.. I think you may be fine though, so don't necessarily quote me on that.. Otherwise, your plant is a monster!!!!!

I actually had a great conversation with the guys on here about the transition from grow to bloom nutes. Some guys flush before starting bloom. Others like you mentioned still use a little grow feed along with the bloom nutes. Others go all guns blazing with full dose of bloom nutes. Personally I decided to go straight up bloom nutes at low doses for the first two feeds then BAM!!! Full dose right in the kisser! [emoji23]
