New Grower First real Grow SFL

Good to hear that you are going to pay more attention to pH. You should monitor the pH of both your solution and soil. ESPECIALLY the soil. Remember, dark green leaves are great, but if they start looking to dark green, N toxicity might be an issue.

So I need some help.
In the am im going to local hydro store going to pick up four three gallon smarts pots, root stimulator, calmag, and the ph and moisture control thing.
So what I need help with is what soil. Im still not sure should I just get some potting soil or ab organic brand. I want something with nothing really in it but I dont want to pay 25 dollars a bag. I assuming potting soil has nothing correct so thats what I should get. They dont have bio bizz they do have fox farm light warrior but its 26 a bag... any suggestions?

Personally i would rather pay the extra for a good brand of soil, I use PM soil (easier to get in uk than Ff) and i haven't had problems so far, nor have i heard of anybody else having any.... worth it in my opinion just for the peace of mind that you wont burn any seedlings!

Theres a few people here who make their own soil, is that something you might consider?

If you are picking up a soil pH and moisture tester, don't go cheap, or you may regret it. The CWP A8 is a solid choice, and is highly recommended

Not cheap but I dont want to pay 30 dollars for a bag of dirt. Going to ask for pro mix or sunshine #4 and go from there.
Ph meter I cant afford a really good one this week so just going to get something for now. One step at a time I suppose.

So I ended up get 100% organic potting soil. No nutes so should work. Also a ph and moisture soil tester. Calmag they did not have smart pots so just got some regular 3.8 pots will post pics when they sprout. Should I start a new journal for them?

You'll be happy with the organic choice :) they'll still want some food though, so I'd recommend some of the usual organic suspects like: seaweed / kelp fertilizer, maybe some crab meal, azomite, maybe cottonseed meal, maybe some greensand :) for some serious organic food I have to strongly recommend the General Organics GO Box, which is about $40 but worth sooo much more. It's helped make a huge difference for me :)
