Live Stoner Chat First real grow

Welcome to the AFN - plants look great ! You're going to have a ball finishing these up I suspect. A quick word of advice if I may, I see you've covered your topsoil with what looks like a mix of Oak/Maple leaves. Be super careful introducing things like that, as your opening the door for invasive little bastard spider mites, gnats. aphids, etc.
It'd be a shame to see anything happen to those ladies. :pass:Are you going to journal this grow here then or will you be starting a thread?

Yeah I'm pretty excited. I moved my light up a bit to 22" from 12" and I grew half inch yesterday and looks like this morning they grew a little taller as well.
So I was following a no till grow guide on Reddit and that's how why I went with the leaves. I actually did have a problem with fungus gnats but got them knocked out quickly. I do plan on finding a different, sterile, mulch to use next time I add something to the top.
I did start a thread in the mephistos forum but I may just go ahead and journal it here. When I'm free later I'll post some pictures a from each week and a short synopsis on what I've did that week.
Thanks for the welcome!

Good Job ! Let me give ya some Rep while we still have it, lol. Hey just a thought (I've played with different things) I saw other folks on here using hydro corn on their topsoil, and have done so myself, it's awesome ! I liked it way more than perlite, sand, and gravel. :slap:

Thanks! So I never got into adding non compostables on the top soil. What's the purpose of it? The reason for the mulch was for it to end up being food for the worms in my soil and to protect the top layer of soil to keep worms from burning up. I assume the perlite, gravel, hydrocorn etc are for the same thing but not biodegradable, at least not in our lifetime? Appreciate the help and rep!
