All right, time for another update. On 7/26 I removed the bottom of the cups and transplanted to the final pots using FullDuplex's tiered method. I had a compo mix ready to go, but I noticed a few tiny bugs in it before planting and got spooked. So I picked up a bag of FFOF and mixed up my own medium. Approximately 3/5 FFOF, 1/5 FFLW, and 1/5 perlite. I'd rather err on the side of a light, airy soil that I have to water more often, rather than something that might be prone to drowning the roots if I screw up. Over the past day I saw no sign of any distress from the transplant, and hopefully those roots are spreading out and enjoying their new home.

I snapped a few pics, including a some macro shots. The DinaFem Fruit has surpassed by the Pakistan Ryder in size, but the PR is hanging in there considering the rough start it had. Both look like they're ready to pop a lot of leaves, so I'm expecting to see plenty of growth this week.

Thanks, guys. I'll have another update with pics in the next couple of days. The Fruit has left the PakRyder in the dust and it's looking great. Not quite 2 weeks old yet and it's already got a strong citrusy, skunky aroma. :smoke:

Back for another update after a productive week. The DinaFem Fruit continues to lead the way over the Pakistan Ryder, but they're both doing well. A couple of nights ago they got their first feeding of nutes - 1/2 teaspoon of FF Big Bloom. It's a little earlier than some growers start with the nutes, but I'm following FD's schedule and his yields show that pushing the plants a bit can have very good results. Both took the food with no ill effects and have since grown quickly and gone a deep green color. They're short and bushy right now, so I've moved the lights a bit higher and they've responded well by adding some height. The PR has a gentle planty smell that you can barely pick up, while the Fruit already has a citrusy, skunky aroma that can be noticed from several feet away. I can tell she's going to be a smelly one, so plans for odor control went into effect.

On advice from a friend I ordered a 90cfm bathroom fan from Amazon and I'm very happy with it so far. At 2.5 sone it's quieter than the air pump bubbling my water, and for $33 shipped, you can't beat the price: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EVUAXW. I cut a hole in the top of my cabinet and attached it with some foil tape for easy removal down the road. It's vented out through my new carbon filter, which I'll probably hang from the ceiling at some point. I know that pushing air through a filter isn't as efficient as pulling, but I simply have no room in my cabinet for one. My previous outlet fan was 75cfm, so I'm hoping the decreased airflow from the filter will be offset by the more powerful fan. I'll find out later when I check my temps after the lights have been on a while. I'm trying to avoid adding a noisy inline fan if I can avoid it. On to the pics!

I tell you what, you have one of the best "first grow" starts I've seen. Nice work, all the way around... cabinet, lighting, ventilation, plants look great...

Props on your hard work man! Your plants are looking great! I agree with JD one of the best first grows I've seen as well!

Thanks a bunch JD and WVR. I'm hopeful that someday my grows will be half as good as yours.
