New Grower first time grower... flowering at 28 days??

So I started this thread as I am a first time grower and have a few questions I am hoping you will answer...

Let me explain i bought a feminised Auto Wembley seed and germinaTed it using the paper towel and 2 plates method and withinn 16 hours I saw a tap root... After a further 8 hours I planted into a 7" pot containing compost, grit sand and a few bigger stones towards the bottom to aid with drainage...

After 2 days a shoot was poking through then after the first two leaves appeared I moved her onto the window sill as the shop I bought it from had supplier issues and my light wouldnt be here for 3 weeks...

The whole three weeks were a heatwave and she had constant light for 16/17 hours and grew 3 inches and had 2 sets of leaves incl first little set...

I then set up my light (250 watt HPS) in my grow cupboard along with fan hygrometer, thermometer, home made humidifier and had a constant temp of 89 degrees F. and RH of between 30% and 38% due to good ventilation

The very first watering I gave after moving her to a light I added a mixture of the flora pro series and will continue with a water water feed water water feed which tends to be required one every three days. The PH sits around 6.8.

Since the week under a light there has been a nice growth improvement and she has new nodes appearing daily all up the plant and there was one pair of white pistils but thought nothing of it as it was preflowers...

However day before yesterday (day 26 since planted) the new nodes that came had white pistils and now all the new nodes have pistils and some existing have them...

Now I apologise if I am being stupid but I was expecting at least another week or two before it flowers... She stands at 7.25 inches and has 5 set of leaves and some coming from each node...

Is this normal to see flowering so early??

At this current rate cam any one guesstimate how big she will get with the current setup??

And is there any advice anyone can give me to improve the setup?

I am new and apologise if I got any terminology wrong lol

All good so far ^_^ - the initial potting mix sounds a little suspect, but if it works it works!

Thats a little bit too hot really, I consider 85 to be the point where i start to worry - but if it's the weather - what can you do! I've grown in hotter conditions, but 75-85 is a pretty good range to stick to.

6.8 is a little high for watering, but what is more important is where the soil PH is sitting. You can test this by knowing the PH of the water you put in and testing the PH of the water that comes out and then apply this formula

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

Ideally, you'd want to keep your soil PH between 6.3 - 6.5 for best nute uptake.
Sound like you're adding nutes at the right time, about 20 days in is where i would usually start.

Yeah - autoflowers are awesome aren't they! She's off!! ^_^

I'll take a guess for you hehe - it's only a guess but about 2-3 feet i would say! (lets see how it turns out!)

Ok thanks for the quick reply and the extent of advice I cant really seem to get the temp lower in the current circumstances..

As for the PH thanks for that equation will get some PH down on next outing...

What kind of ventillation do you have?

I found my heat problems were fixed with a more powerfull out take fan (My cab came supplied with a bathroom fan out take and it was rubbish at getting rif of heat!)

I'm gonna go ahead and guess your a UK grower due to your mention of a recent heat wave.

I notice some of your leaf edges are curling up, which is an obvisous sign of heat stress.

Genral hyroponics Flora series , has a good rep, but not used it myself.

What sort of temps are you getting in you cupboar now? Things should be a bit better now the heat wave is over (UK heat wave that is)

Ideally temps would be in the 22C-26C (72F-27F) range which produces the best growth, although cannabis will still grow well in the 21C-29C (70F-85F) range

You never want the temps to get over 30C (86F).

When cannabis plant get too hot thier metabaolism slows down, the higher the temps above thier comfort zone the slower the growth.

You stated that temps were over 35C (95F) , this is most probably the reason your plants slowed down.

Its just like you or I working in the sun the hotter it gets the harder it is to get the work done until the heat get so high we say sod this and we stop working until it cools down.

As a rough rule of thumb auto's can flower in the 14-28 day time period sometimes a bit longer all dependant on strain.

Your doing great, just try to keep her a little cooler.

I have changed the fan and tweaked around a little and got the temp down to 73.6 F.... Considering putting a core hole through the wall with.a bathroom extractor fan as an inlet near the floor as the weather has quite rightly cooled back down again Growerz and thanks for your input... Are the sewd to yield time on the websites anything to go by or simply to many variables?
