New Grower First time grower. Need suggestions on my set up.

Make sure you research and properly set up so you're drawing air OUT of the tent and then pushing the air through the carbon into the space outside the tent rather than pulling room air INTO the tent....

I THINK that's how an external placement of the scrubber should work...

i wouldn't go pushing air THROUGH the carbon filter bro, they are designed to have the air pulled through them ie
carbon filter - extraction fan - outside of tent. you had it set up the correct way the first time bro. you could leave the carbon filter in your tent and have the extraction fan outside, try and mount the carbon filter as close to the top of the tent as you can and save a few inches there as well. but i wouldn't push air through it

NO NO NO !!!!
You have a great set up!
You will be able to grow lots of weed in your tent!
Hang your fan out side of the tent, you can hang the filter vertically and should be able to center your light.
get your self a good ph meter go with happy frog watch your temps keep asking questions!
grow on bro.

Yeah, I thought there might be an issue with what I was suggesting (hence the "do the research") but I knew there was a way to set it up that it took less space IN the tent. Thanks guys, for clarifying.

---But I have to ask, if the air in the tent is starting out on one side of the Activated Carbon Screen and ending up on the other side (cleansed), what's the difference?

What do you mean, 'what's the difference?' Between what?

Pushing air through the filter vs. pulling air through the filter.

If I'm convoluting the discussion, I'll just shut up...not my thread and I'm not currently utilizing a carbon scrubber, just trying to understand.

i think he means whats the difference from sucking air through the carbon filter and pushing air through it, all carbon filters are designed to have the air pulled through them though thats why you get the white sock for around the outside to stop any larger stuff from being sucked through your filter

To do with pressure I would think.

As said most are designed to have air pulled through. Some people do it.
The only way would be to find out for ourselves but as I say plenty do it.

True that Larry, but some do and it works.

Yup, yer pickin' up what I'm thrown' down...:)

And the answer makes sense. I think my confusion stems from seeing them set-up improperly as product shots on websites/auction sites selling them.

It works But, it was designed to suck.
the pre filter is an important component and will keep the filter from clogging up with dust/crap.
if you blow threw the filter, you wont be using your pre filter.

Just hang the filter so that you have nice easy bends with your ducting (not kinked)
