Greetings autoflowering nation! we'll to start off with, I recently got my medical patient prescription here in Cali. After doing some research, and also being a beginner, I came across autoflowering. Not knowing much, I soon learned it will be better to start of with autos.

I'm limited to a budget. A low budget.

to continue, I will be using 4 royal queen seeds. The seeds breeds are:

- Northern automatic
- amnesia haze automatic
- bubble kush automatic
- royal jack automatic.

Now, I'll be using 3 gallon nursery pots(keep in mind, don't really know much about growing) I'm a newbie!

I will be growing these plants indoor. Inside my garage which is big enough to grow more than 4 plants(doing only 4 with different strains since it's my first time).

After doing some research, I learned that foxfarm ocean soil will be my best choice. However, they don't have it on my local Home Depot or walmart, therefor I will be using black gold soil. I'm aware of fertilizers. Being a newbie, I don't really understand what it does or what will go good with black gold soil.

According to my research, fluorescent light bulbs will be good to start off with. However I'm not sure how many lightbulbs nor how many watts will be good for 4 plants grown indoor. I'm also aware that once flowering starts I should change to hps light.
Note: I will use a fan and aluminum.

now, let me mention nutrients. I'm not quite sure about nutrients. I have no idea which ones should I get on my local Home Depot or garden stores. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

the garage has no windows.. Sometimes it can get quite hot inside. I will be running a 12 light on cycle. I get up at 6 am and get back home at 6pm. They will stay in total darkness after 6.

Any help is highly appreciated! I will be getting the supplies on Friday! I'm excited!

Which bag of black gold do you use? Natural and organic is the one you're going to want
A garage with no windows might be too hot for your plants. You'd need ventilation to keep the temperature down
There's no need to run 12/12 for autoflowers.. 18/6 or 20/4 is what I see used a lot.
Nutrients/fertilizers... Fox farm trio (grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom) is what I'd recommend if you want something cheap and simple.

Cool.. I know I sound a bit dumb asking this question.. How much and how often do I feed dem? At what week do I start feeding dem? Wich one first? Second? Third?

Also, I'm going to use the 16quart organic soil. The black bag. Any recommendations as what to mix da soil with?

Concerning the heat.. Fall season is coming and the heat hasn't been to bad compared to recent summer days..

if so, will a AC work?

Although I don't have experience with soil, it sounds like you're on the right track! A lot of guys use CFLs around here, as they are economically, a great idea and can produce some great results! I used them for the first half of my first grow, and ultimately saved up and got an LED panel after doing a lot of digging and searching.. I still use them now as supplemental lighting to my LED, with the only real drawback being that the heat cannot be vented as well as using something like an HID fixture with a "cool-tube" or built-in ventilation.. At the beginning, smell won't be as much of an issue, but once you start getting closer to the flowering stage, the smell will start to appear.. As for AC, I have a small window unit in the room I have my grow tent in, and it works great at keeping the temps below 82F during the day, and I run my lights usually at 20/4.. If you're really worried about heat, then it's possible to run your lights primarily at night, since it will be cooler then, but you're going to want adequate fresh air exchange.. In a garage; not as big of a deal, depending on how you set up your area, but if you're trying to make a small, contained area, you're going to also want to make sure you have some sort of way to extract the hot air..

Also, if you don't have CFLs, regular fluorescent lights like T5s, T8s, etc, in the 6500K-5000K range are great for vegging, although I've seen a few journals where they ran 2700K color temp bulbs throughout and got decent results..
