Greetings to the AFN community from the Pioneer Valley of western MA in the US! I’m a middle aged cannabis patient suffering from chronic back pain stemming from herniated discs in my lower back along with a host of symptoms from far too many concussions. I’ve been learning how to use cannabis to treat myself over the past year or so. When I was younger, I used cannabis heavily in a recreational sense but little did I know, I was medicating myself at the same time.

I’m about to be growing my first 4 plants -2 Northern Lights & 2 Trainwreck autos (from a vendor in Canada) with my son. He’s too young to partake of the harvest but I think this will be a great experience for us to learn about growing plants, some of the science involved & most importantly, to share some time together. We’re growing in soil in a 3x3x6 tent with 2 450W led lights & a 4” filter/blower set up. Our seeds are soaking in water & will be going into paper towels on plates on a heated mat later today.

I super excited to be growing my own, finally! I’m a landscape & nature photographer as well & I plan to be taking photos along the way. I enjoy macro photography & am looking forward to getting up close to my buds when the arrive!

Yeh, welcome kdubs. You're definitely at the right place. I started last January, but only after finding AFN and getting versed here in the different styles and strategies. Trainwreck is a great strain. I grow it for my wife who now no longer has to spend big bucks at the medical dispensary. Start documenting your grow with annotated photos, and you'll find people here happy to follow along and provide advice.

Thanks for the welcome! I use all of the above but tend to vape dry herb during the day & use more concentrated options in the evening. Edibles can be tricky for me & have overdone it a few times. I’ve got a 1/4 in trade from a friend for some kratom & think I’m going to make some canna coconut oil from it, though.
