New Grower First timer in need of help! would be much appreciated.

Hey there! As you can see from the title i'm a first timer and i've got some issues that need addressing, firstly my ph is off (around 7.8), i've been scouring forums for advice but in the end i just decided to make a thread to seek council from those more knowledgable than myself.

I figured out that my tap water has a ph of about 7.5 could this be the cause of my ph problem? also would watering with water that has a lower ph fix this problem?? (today i bought stuff to properly ph my water) Also i am considering working some horse manure into the surface of the soil before my next watering as i hear that this can help lower ph.

Anyway as you'll see in the photos my leaf tips are hooking down and theres tiny little yellowish/brown patches at the very tip also one of my leaves looks to be a bit deformed! is this a problem i should worry about? She's only 9 days old so i want to get these problems fixed before disaster strikes.

Finally i hear using filtered water is bad... is this the case?

Whoa! Jumped the gun definitely! Just water get for the next couple of weeks
With just plain ph water... Are you using a ph pen? If so what kind? Is that high ph measured from the run off?

Haha yer i thought as much... got a little over excited. No it was taken from a ph pen one of those bosmere 3 in one things that does light and moisture as well, but bought a kit to test water ph properly today so can measure runoff on the next watering, what can i learn from it? Cheers

If you have the option, use bottled spring water. For my first grow that was all I used with botanicare nutes and I didn't use a ph and ppm meter but I had the best and healthiest grow somehow in coco. For 9 days old, that's some good growth. A little bit stretched out though. I would bring your lights closer. The addition of half strength nutes won't kill ya, but you may have a chance of locking her out, so just use some clean spring water for a week or so and then introduce quarter strength veg nutes. What soil mix are you using?

Thanks well thats good news about the growth, dont have any experience to compare, I'm using 50/50 peat moss/miracle grow compost (consists of 40-70% peat) plus a large cup of perlite and a large cup of vermiculite.
