can someone help me understand...when simeone put a whole fish in the hole before the plant....how long before the fish starts breaking down and is it a good idea to use it?

Well i'll be damned I have never heard of that before!!! Surely it would stink a bit? I mean i gather its not gonna be a 2lb carp but what are the benefits?

Why would you do that? There are plenty of good and cheap fish based products available. Fish meal is also a lot less messy.
Also plants don't like some of the amines that are created when fresh fish breaks down, the same stuff that smells so awful.

A whole fish in soil. Keep the fish and feed it, and collect the fish poop:coffee break:..

In India They put there favourite fish at the roots of there plant in soil, so I understand u wanna try.
Butt if u do this u have allready harvest ure plant when the fish is still breaking off in the soil and turns in to nutrients ure plant can use.

So just buy something like fish mix 8€ for 1l.
If u use stuff like that its real food for the grow of ure plant, useless while it Blooms.
I even use it my first 3 weeks as spray for my leafs I do this 2 times a week.
I can assure u the smell is worth it if u see the result ;-)
