Grow Mediums Flippin to Autopots?

Hi.
New user here.
Been growing in soil and 1 run DWC. Next grow i'm going for autopots but i have a question.
Going to grow with coco coir mixed with perlite. 1 airdome in each pot.
What size would you go for, 8,5l or 15l?
I think in 8,5 l the roots reach water faster than in 15l, right? Pros and cons?
Is there a risk that the coco will always will too wet in 8,5l compared to 15? I always like to dry my ladies out a bit.
My grow tent is 170cm so i have limited heigt to grow in.

Hi Hvergang, welcome. I use the 15l in short tents like yours and it works out fine, I'd go for those. In regard to how wet the coco will be, the valves control the water flow so I don't think there would be difference between the two sizes.

I'm in a 6.5-7ft tent with 15L pots depending on strains it can get quite crowded but if you train, LST, supercrop you should be fine. I also just use plain coco coir with airdome in the pots. The pots stay moist and you really never want your coco to go completely dry as that is where problems happen.

My first tent is a 90x90x170 and I have grown with both the 8.5 and 15. @bushmasterar15 has said about all that needs to be said on the 15 liter pots. As for the 8.5, I had no problem with them being too wet. I ran Some Barney’s Farm LSD25s in them and pulled 150g of excellent buds. Would have been much more but boy wonder here had to do some experiments midgrow. It’s all documented in the grow listed in my signature.

Thanks for input.
I have Budbox 100x100x180 and going for a 2-pot system with 15l.
I'll begin building my new LED fixture when i get all parts, soo exited now .
Will use my old led strips to make a veritcal fixture. Guess the ladies won't be able to hide from lights

and 1 Dutch Passion CBD Auto Charlotte’s Angel.
Grow for medical purpose to help me cope with my back pain. :smoking:

I see there are also 25L pots available, I'm growing in 15L(3.9gal) - first time using autopots for me, is anyone growing in the 25L pots (6.6gal) and are there any distinct advantages going big?
