Ok is flushing before harvest done every day leading up to chop or is it just done on your normal watering schedule?

the problem here is the word flushing. 2 meaning and no one says which they mean usually. flushing in my head is to fix a problem if theres something in the medium that needs to come out you flush, running a larger than usual volume of water through your medium.
near the end of the grow when people say flush they usually mean just switching feeds to plain ph'd water instead of nuted water.
muddy made a thread somewhere about it he says cleansing for the plain water thing and flushing for flushing away stuff.

so what you want is to just water as normal but dont nute if its time to finish up.
no change just no nutes

you want them to use up their reserves.

no problem, yeh i see lots of people using it for both meanings without specifying.
complicating things for people learning.
how far do you think you are from harvest? i usually give plain water for around 10 days. i dont think its a huge deal anyway, last grow i took a plant in late flower prettymuch a day after feeding due to hermie issues and it smokes fine very nice, no noticable difference to some "cleansed" plants that i chopped later.
id say its important if youre piling on the nutes near the end.

im curious what people do with hydro. id assume it would be strong feeds right uptill the end or near enough anyway. maybe not though

was calling it flushing (at the end) long before i ever heard it for fixing a problem , lots of ppl used to say leaching when fixing a problem

i say flushing for both fixing a problem and for near the end of the grow as you are "flushing" the medium and the plant of any nute buildups or salts ect

dont drown them before the chop , water/flush with straight ph'd water as needed for the last week or 2 (growers choice)

peace

doesnt really matter what its called as long as its clear when people explain which they mean but alot just say flush or i flushed and thats very ambiguous. so two terms would be handy if you could have some universally accepted/understood ones.

i personally see the fixing kind of flush as more flush'y. flush a toilet you dump a large amount of water down in one go. id just say cut feed or stop adding nutes its alot clearer for someone who is asking about it and probably hasnt done it before. it naturally makes sense once youve done it yourself.
