Grow Room Foliar & calmag in humidifier res?

Hey all,

I recently had an issue with a pH locked plant (which is now resolved thanks to the forum). One of the main suggestions was to foliar feed the plants. My question to you all is thus:
As I automate my system and leave it for days/weeks on end, unattended. Do you think adding a foliar/calmag supplement to the humidifier res would be beneficial/detrimental in any way?

I love foliar just not sure what it would do to the humidifier.

Well the thought was as the humidifier is constantly adjusting the RH in the tent by shooting out vapourised water from the tank then if Foliar or CalMag was added to the tank, would this benefit the plants or would the additives be more detrimental to the HR-15?
I ask as my system is automated and cannot spray manually as I leave it for days/weeks on end.

I like how you think. I think that it would wreck your humidifier though. For a while I was using my 360 ppm tap water in the humidifer until I noticed it left a film everywhere. I saw somewhere somebody blamed tap water in the humidifer for clogging a carbon filter. Not sure if there’s any truth to that though.

What about sweetening your nutrient solution?

No, using a humidifier or vaporizer will not work. Foliar delivery requires the nutes be in liquid state. Humidifiers and vaporizers spew out liquid microdroplets that dry/evaporate near instantly, raising the humidity.

I have a water softener, and using that water in my humidifier fully clogged up my carbon filter, and left a salt residue on eeeverything in the cabinet , I would steer clear of putting anything into a humidifier other then clean water.
