How does he know he got them from the soil? So many growers walking in and out of the same place all day spreads mites like the sh*t. What is not to say that your friend's clients-employees brought him that gift while climbing around bags in his shop. Absolutely none of the Fox Farm employees I have met were liars or thieves, now I haven't met them all but... No trying to harsh you Captin' but

I am so happy I found this thread. You may of saved all my plants this year! I was planning on using OF mixed with wither happy frog or light warrior but I will be looking for a different mix now.

Greetings, If one were to use OF and amend it what would you folks suggest? These are some of the options I have considered but have no clue what ratio to use or if they are even necessary. I am new to the growing world and want the best soil possible as this is my small personal grow with Autos and I have no room for errors for my outdoor grow, I just want to end up with a little premium smoke and have some fun.Options considered.
1. mixOF with another product to reduce hot soil issue.
2. to add perlite/vermiculite
3. Add powdered dolmite
4. MixOF with Sunshine 3
5. Start with a different brand of soil.
Any suggestions with ratios of above options are appreciated. Take Care and Thanks

Hey fandango, you're in the wrong thread for that question. Look in the soil section for some people's mixes or check the new growers section for a wealth of info.

I wouldnt use anything but Promix, its a tried and tested medium. I have been using it since I can remember and I have never once had an issue.
You have to remember any soil that has any amendments within it already is susceptible to inconsistencies, due to human error, machine error, wrong mixtures, etc...
I'd rather start with a base and add amendments to it myself if necessary, atleast then you know exactly whats it, and how much, and its properly mixed by your own hands.

Yea not only were my auto x hollowed out but I got a massive mite infection from ffof never ever buying ther products again.
