Hey guys and gals... I recently started a grow using a new media by Fox Farms. It is from their Bush Doctor line called Coco-Loco. According to their website it combines coco coir, coconut pal humus, and a healthy mix of perlite. It is incredibly spongy and airy! I added some more perlite, 20% perlite and 80% Coco-Loco mix. I chose the medium for its spongy property and its basically inert, so i can add my own nutes. I like to be in control!!!

My grow is totally noob! But hey, you have to work with what you've got and make the best of it. I'm working on acquiring equipment and knowledge and that's why I'm here. I will be buying a tent within the next two weeks and for right now i have it set up in a garden tub that we don't use.

I have a total of 548 actual watts. 308 total watts of CFL's and 240 total watts of 4 foot flourescent tubes. I have 292 watts at 6500k and 256 watts at 2700k.

I recently popped two Hawaiian Skunk Haze photos, one feminized Strawberry Blue, and one skunk auto by Sweet Seeds. All beans were ordered from Herbies.

After my ladies joined us above ground I noticed that that after 7 days they were not growing so I stopped by my local hydro store where I bought the Coco-Loco. I told the owner my issue and he told me to add 1/8 strength nutes. So I added the following...

1/4 Tsp Fox Farms Grow Big

1 Tsp General Hydroponics Ca Mg

2 Drops of Super Thrive

All nutes/vitamins were added to 1 gallon of distilled water and ph came to 6.1 which is within range. I called fox farms and they told me that the ideal ph range is 5.9-6.5.

I noticed an immediate change as roots started to poke through the bottom of every starter pot within 24 hours and they tripled in size. There are currently no signs of nute burn so I will increase the next feeding to 1/4 strenghth to see how they respond. So after a sonewhat shaky start I'm finally starting to dial in and see growth and progress.

Please, if anyone has any suggestions or questions pleaase let me know. I'm not a total noob as I've had three successful soul grows but I'm new to coco. If we stop learning we stop growing!

Below are pictures of my ladies. The first two are the hawaiian skunk haze and you can already see the haze characteristics. The third is the strawberry blue, my favorite so far. The last one is the skunk auto and it has a wierd growth pattern with the leaves. I'm sorry if the pictures are crappy. I have a crappy camera on my phone.

Wish me luck!
