This is the seventh time that I am using this method and it is working absolutely great.
Guaranteed better taste, flavor, aspect superior to "dry-jar cured" system.
What you need:
1. Frost free freezer
2. Shoe box, cartoon whatever...
3. Your stuff
Basically 2 ways of doing:
1. Easiest,
-Chop, hang and dry-time as you would usually (me between 4-6 days), then cut branches, nuggets (I like to keep the max branches on it) and place in shoe-box, cartoon straight in freezer (-20 C) and leave for at least 10 days...
No lid required, air circulation necessary (frost free freezer)
-Take out "delicately / cautiously" your things (Trichs at risk of knocking off at that temperature but not like they will all go off (remember bubble hash?)
-Keep them as it is, in box for 1 hour or so (still tweaking last did 4 hours and work even better) at room temperature
-Put in jar, burp 1 or 2x for the first 2 days. (when I did 4 hours out, it was not required)
-Done!
You will notice that "it is" a bit dry (I checked 50-55% RH) when out of the freezer (it is fine), once put in the jar, all come back and much better!
2. Harder, just a bit!
-Exactly the same but only for the pre-drying it is different, I noticed that if you can keep extending drying slowly more, taste / flavor / aroma is getting even so much better.
If you use shoe box as first method....:
I chop, then cut the branches or part to the shoe box size and place as it is in it then let "slow" dry as long as you can... then proceed with the rest of the manip...
I extended my drying from 4-6 days to 10 days then in the freezer by this manner just watch out not to over dry.
Just try it!
If skeptical, try with your popcorn buds and see
or
think about hash making....
When you keep your trims, fresh in freezer, for later use..... your Ice-hash will taste better aroma /floral taste (that is a fact) than if left drying then stored.
I kept some buds in freezer for later hash making but did not make as needed them to smoke and OMG!
Hope I make sense, if not ask,
Enjoy!
