Live Stoner Chat General advice re: harvest.

Keep feeding her, it appears that there are still a good bit of time left on her. Breeders timeline is for a perfect grow. Every little misstep adds days to the total. Just my 2 cents but if you were to harvest any time soon, your gonna be disappointed because the calyxes haven't even begun swelling. When plants are cut before they swell, they pretty much turn into hay when they're dried, not to mention they'll be super airy and weigh next to nothing. Hope this helps and good luck

That does help, thank you.

I think I'm just being impatient.
When I planted the seed on Oct 1st, I was acutely aware that I may, possibly, be able to have a smoke on xmas day. Allowing for drying/curing. Now, I'm not so sure. As others have eluded to though, I'd rather have a nice product than rush anything.

Yeah, been looking at some today. Not as expensive as I thought they'd be tbh.

Plant is 73 days old.
i have a hand scope. And nearly always use my cheap ass macro phone clip on lense.
Much easier for me to check trichs with.
And a bonus with being able to take a pic of the site.

The one by Roca software apps by the way as there are a few on there but this one was the most stable and clear

Right, I got one of those clip on macro lenses for my phone. I don't exactly have steady hands, and these are the best still shots I could get (hold your applause please, I know the photos are amazing ).

I did use the lense to sort of survey the plant all over though, and from what I can tell, most of the trichomes are milky, I can only see a very small amount of clear ones. Also one or two here and there are amber.

However, I still see a lot of white pistils.

I've read and been told by different people that when most of the pistils turn brown, it's harvest time. Other people say I should use the colour of the trichomes as my guide.

Mood: confused.

Can someone tell me, please, should I harvest?

I'm looking for the the sativa/cerebral high ideally, rather than sofa lock.
At this point though that is of secondary concern. Now I just want something to smoke. lol.

So, kind people, any thoughts?

[Should probably post this in my diary thread too.]

Hey buddy... Those are some good trich shots, and trich shots don't lie. You've always got the option of an incremental harvest. A lot of people, including myself do it that way. Whack a couple tops off, let em dry and see what you think. It wont hurt the plant one bit

Ah, I'd not even considered that as an option. Thanks.
