New Grower Germination Rates

Hey All.

I ordered 3 packs of Kush Van Stitch, and got one free. 12 seeds total
Soaked for 24 hours as usual, and only 2 seeds cracked their shell. No taproots.
Into rockwool, and got one that looked like it was going to sprout, but never made it out of the cube.

With Dutch Passion I've always had pretty much 100% success rate. I would lose 1 seed here and there, but never had problems like the KVS. Beat up my confidence a bit to be honest, lol.

I contacted stitch and he was really cool about it, was going to re-send but I never did see the seeds.

Anyone else have germ problems with KVS?

Ended up getting some seeds from Sweet Seeds, Dinafem, and GHS. I ordered AMS from GHS because it was cheap which I'm sure was old stock, and got 8 free GHS white widow auto's. The AMS germ rate sucked(it's an older strain and not a lot of people growing it) but the GHS WWauto's were 100%. The seeds from Dinafem, Sweet Seeds were also 100%. Didn't lose 1 seed.

Maybe the KVS I got was old stock or something.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with KVS germination.

Hey Tav, KVS is my "goto" strain. I have grown alot of these out in the last few years. I have some seed stock from 2012 in the fridge and they crack just fine.

Thanks Man. I stray, but AFN will always be my home. All is good. Can't wait to share some of my DIY systems. Got a hook on a new PH and Nutrient dosing system. Trying to become a distributor and get bulk prices on em so I can sell em cheap. Working on a lot of things.

Right on. I was DYING to run KVS. Every grow I see looks great. I'm out 100 bucks on my last try at getting some and I won't throw another 100 at it, lol.
How long do your KVS take from start to finish?

Not trying to cause problems. But I had a friend who had the same issue. Contacted stitch and he didn't do anything about it

I let my KVS go to 80 day and amber up good!!! Only way to play the kush strains in my opinion. Ive had em early, which is pretty uppity and makes the mind race almost to a panic attack type state. I dont like that kind of high. The last few plants I grew out were chopped too early due to time constraints.(out of town family visits). Here is the funniest smoke report I have ever read!!!

Had the same problem with stitch's Russian haze. Which I believe is a newer strain from him, so deffantily not old seed stock.

I recently ordered KVS directly from Stitch. I planted directly to soil and seed sprouted in 3 days and growing nicely now at day 35. I didn't soak seed, just planted direct. I also received Russian Haze from Stitch in error, was supposed to get a different strain. I just planted a Russia Haze yesterday so we'll see. And in another threadof mine that got locked I have a Love Potion, which I knew was a new strain going in to this grow, at day 39 it was 39 inches, huge fan leaves, very little flowering.

I believe a lot of trouble possibly with the germination rates is just that , they are probably new fresh seeds which I know with myself if the seeds are fresh or on the newer side all this pre-soak paper towel methods have not worked for me. As Marg pointed out he planted direct to soil , which is what I would STRONGLY recommend and I betcha seeds start a popping and again I will try my damnest to refrain from posting in this section and in no way was previous rant directed at ANY of the fine mods here that run an overall awesome site! Sometimes a mans just got to vent. Sending a :karma Cloud: of germination your way!

fresh seeds that arent hardened off sit and stretch instead of crack , the seed germinates and dies inside the shell

as for stitch's haze dominant autos ??? i guess ill have to pm him and HOPE to receive a reply , but id like to know where the potency is as it seems it was removed from all my seeds somehow , as was the auto gene
